Zack Snyder and HBO are in talks appearently.

All I can say is. Pay up Breja ;)

Anyway what can they possibly do with a Watchmen mini series that the 2009 movie (and its Ultimate Cut) already did not do?

All I can think of is making it even more faithful to the Graphic Novel. Bring back the Squid. Make Rorschach's chapter more faithful.

Personally I wish they do an animated adaption of it. Hire the guys the did Justice League especially the writers that did "For The Man Who Has Everything" the only adaption of Alan Moore's work that Moore himself approved of. (He was credited at least)
Nice! The extended edition was a fantastic movie.
That Snyde(r) bastard.

I'm a bit weird but the best part of the movie to me was the initial news sequence discussing the whole dangers of Soviet nuclear aggrasion.

The first thing you see is the camara pulling back from the yellow of the comedian's badge.

Oh the DCAU in general was awesome. It puts the current marvel cinematic universe to shame.

Fuck Marvel I am a DC fan and proud. I welcome the new DC live action movies warts and all.

There is some great little touches in the movie and I love. That is one of them. I like the way they move to flash backs. It's a great change in style.
They're probably going to make a prequel based on those comics neither I nor most people ever read.

But I'm no purist, I enjoyed the movie just fine and you won't see me ever pining for that squid, if they do make it I'll probably check it out.
Lastly we got it.
I was waiting for Watchmen tv series.
Never thought it would be on HBO. My first guess for channel to pick this was CW.
Good thing is it's not coming to FOX or ABC else it would get cancel mid season.
To be honest, I really enjoyed the watchmen movie (although the game as a prequel to the movie events felt a little flat). I'd love to watch a mini-series or whole series for Watchmen, be one of the few of a handful of things I'd actually watch.
Which toe are we talking about? The big toe or the pinky maybe?
I wonder if Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons will have any say in this, or it will be another rape of
the Moore excellence.
I doubt Alan Moore will want anything to do with this though, not with the Hollywood track record of adapting his stories.

great news ^^. While it was not easily accessible by all audiences (have a lot of friends who didn't like it at all) i really loved the Watchmen Directors Cut and i think it's excellent material for a mini series. And well just by writing this i'm in the mood to read the comics again ^^
I don't like HBO's shows, I don't think a better adaptation than Snyder's movie is possible, and if it's based on the prequels... I really doubt anyone will care. Even I didn't read those beyond the first few issues.

Besides, it's HBO. It's going to be all about sex and violence, without any substance, and if it sells well they'll make another season and another long after they ran out of actuall source material to adapt.

Has that always been the case? There was only one sex scene in Band of Brothers and that was at the END of the whole mini series. And that was portrayed as "Yes the War is over now I can have a good sex with some hot german broad and feel good" and Violance? well obviously its a War so of course its gonna be bloody and brutal.

Curb your Enthusiasm is certainly not any of that.
