After Story

Tomoya Okazaki is a delinquent who finds life dull and believes he'll never amount to anything. Along with his friend Youhei Sunohara, he skips school and plans to waste his high school days away.

One day while walking to school, Tomoya passes a young girl muttering quietly to herself. Without warning she exclaims "Anpan!" (a popular Japanese food) which catches Tomoya's attention. He soon discovers the girl's name is Nagisa Furukawa and that she exclaims things she likes in order to motivate herself. Nagisa claims they are now friends, but Tomoya walks away passing the encounter off as nothing.

However, Tomoya finds he is noticing Nagisa more and more around school. Eventually he concedes and befriends her. Tomoya learns Nagisa has been held back a year due to a severe illness and that her dream is to revive the school's drama club. Claiming he has nothing better to do, he decides to help her achieve this goal along with the help of four other girls.

As Tomoya spends more time with the girls, he learns more about them and their problems. As he attempts to help each girl overcome her respective obstacle, he begins to realize life isn't as dull as he once thought.

Cool, a forum blog :) I'm pretty new to anime, and it remains to be seen how deep I will ever dive into it. I'm thinking to go for Darker than Black. I've heard good things about that one.

My only previous anime-ish experience outside of the obvious big movies is a curious French-Japanese series called Secret of Cerulean Sand. Most recommended, it is awesome.

I will do my best to introduce you and everyone to old and new shows of many genres that make Anime what it is. Little hint for next week, Gold.
I'm just getting into anime and looking for recommendations. I'm limited to Netflix only though so looks like Boogiepop Phantom is out but it sounds interesting. I loved Deathnote and Kill La Kill. Attack on Titan and Puella Magi Madoka Magica were ok. And did not really like One Punch Man or Little Witch Academia.
Evangellion is on netflix now ;)

Sword Art Online, despite its criticisms is still a good series imo.

Seven Deadly Sins was pretty good too, though the art direction felt strange to me, but you get used to it

Violet Evergarden, Grimgar, Kakegurui, Hi Score Girl. Wildly varying in genre/atmosphere but I enjoyed all of those

I still need to watch Violet Evergarden, the animation is outstanding. it's similar to a makatoshinkai film

I will help you out here, I know crunchyroll does not have all the stuff sometimes but if not there is a site called GOGOAnime and they always have a lot of the old shows that no one airs on streaming sites. but please support the creators and only use sites like that to watch stuff that is truly out of your reach of viewing. :)

Excellent show. You will probably like it. I just finished Dororo and started Yu-Yu Hakusho (that I already watched back in the day). It aged really bad though.

It's one of my all time faves. Good choice. Note that it may only be 6 episodes, but each is ~45mins long.

New recommendation is up, this week is Golden Boy, last weeks recommendation was boogiepop phantom.
Baccano! (Entertaining, quite sad, memorable, badass)(Also, I recommend watching this anime with the english dub)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (Great story, epic fights, teaches you the importance of family, memorable, entertaining)(Works well with either the english sub or dub)

Psycho-Pass (Fun detective stuff, cool fights)

Eureka Seven (Haven't finished it yet, but so far so good. Love the lore)

The Fate series (Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works)

Kara no Kyoukai (Also haven't finished it yet, but I'm quite addicted with the way the show throws its clues at you. Some clues are wrong simply to confuse you, yet the correct ones will still leave you making assumptions that can somehow link all the tiny details together. The show doesn't spoon feed you at all. One more thing, the episodes are not released in order. Therefore you will have to obviously watch all the episodes then begin finding the correct order from there.)
