May actually work with a surprising number of games.

I also want the zoo tycoon and hitman games released on GOG.

Industry Giant 1 and 2 are both on GOG as well.

Hysterical GOGlodytes have pretty much made sure we'll never see another Hitman game here again. The whole thing could have been handled better on both sides.

I know the games might (and do) still work most of the times. But there are still a few (yes, Warcraft, Starcraft, C+C) which I didn't habe the money for as a kid. :)

They are only talking about the Hitman game from 2016, which was available for some weeks and then got removed again, because most of the content was still hidden behind DRM.

I, too, am a little disappointed with how that shook out. I understand that people who bought it Day 1 felt cheated and were upset at the release, but I will always choose to have the option to buy something rather than have it taken from me. With a revision of the listing, the game could have stayed for sale and kept the franchise alive here, but I think you may be right that we won't see another Hitman release here.

Regardless of how people took it, the main party to blame for that case is GOG. They are, according to themselves, a DRM-Free store... and they released a title that had a glaring case of heavily DRMd content. Considering people reacted the way they did to a simple itty-bitty set of rewards for Cyberpunk being Galaxy only.. what did GOG (or anyone else) expect, flowers?

Now, I get it, people could perhaps have been more civil about it, but GOG's initial response to their own mess was not good and only served to stir the pot even further. People might have played their part, won't dispute it, but the Hitman fiasco and its consequences are 90% down to GOGs asinine decision and handling of the problem.

I don't even know which possibility is worse: if GOG knew the state the game would be released in and agreed, or if they were not told and didn't bother to check...

That's one of the things I mean when I said it could have been handled better on both sides. I'm not sure GOG was aware of just how much had to be unlocked through playing online.

So this thread will deterioriate into a discussion about Hitman and then get locked. Because a shill from Zoom Platform wants to derail this thread, like so many other threads towards whatever argument is most damaging for GOG.

Predicting what? That I would try to redirect people to Zoom for a game they don't even have? Do you do this when people mention Steam or do you have special feelings for me? You're awfully uppity. Should I have been more specific about GOGlodytes, too? We are all GOGlodytes. I was referring to hysterical GOGlodytes.

Anyway, to answer the original post, we'll see more older games that GOG thinks they can make money from. We don't understand their selection process, so it's hard to say if games you like will be games they like. Even if they like them, they won't necessarily show up here. It all comes down to money.
