JakobFel: I've been at least trying to get into SOME anime for the past few months but I just can't seem to get into it. For years, I just never had any interest in it and even now that I WANT to get into it, I just can't. That said, one of the few that is actually keeping my interest is Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It's difficult for me because it has no English dub but the concept is really neat, especially if you enjoy Star Wars.

Zimerius: did you try twist.moe ?

huge database, they only ask if you would like to contribute to their monthly server rent, voluntary of course

https://twist.moe/a/ginga-eiyuu-densetsu
Thanks for the link but it's not so much that I can't find places to watch them (particularly the ones that aren't available in the US), it's more that none of them have actually been able to hold my interest long enough so far. Thankfully, LoGH seems to be cool but I've only watched the first episode so far.

ah oke, i though the complete dubbed version was available at moe but i must be mistaken then, mb
Space Adventure Cobra
Horimiya
Oh and if you like classic videogames watch High Score Girl, it's on Netflix, really good and funny serie!!!
It was only a few months ago when I finally checked out Crunchyroll (CR) & Funimation (FM) and found out that most of their content can be watched for free that I ended up watching more anime than I have in a looooooooooong time. It's funny that the paid subscriptions are mainly for the dubbed work, which are more often not just bad outright. I'll take a subbed show any day of the week. Many shows are nothing more than time-wasters to me but there definitely have been some better ones, too.

Moriarty the Patriot (FM) - A nice, different take on the Sherlock Holmes lore.
Cowboy Bebop (FM) - After hearing so much about it over the years I decided to finally check it out, and I wasn't disappointed in the least. Definitely some of the best sci-fi anime out there.
The Millionaire Detective (FM) - A decent pseudo buddy cop show.
Emma: A Victorian Romance (CR) - Unfortunately, the video quality is kinda crummy here, but it didn't deter me from this excellent period drama. Probably one of the most realistically designed shows I've seen.
Hanasuka Iroha (CR) - A pleasant coming-of-age story at a traditional Japanese Inn.
The Quintessential Quintuplets (CR) - A fun, light-hearted romcom.

On Netflix:
The Great Pretender
Clannad
Aggretsuko
Beastars
Brand New Animal
Violet Evergarden - Possibly my favorite of all of the past decade or two.

No worries, I tried to access it on that site but it was giving me an error. I'll try back periodically though!

Which one do you prefer, the series or the movie?

I'd like to recommend Kakegurui.

Clairsentient: Which one do you prefer, the series or the movie?
Neither as the movies are merely extensions and continuation of the show. That said, I haven't seen the second movie since it hasn't been available in the US yet, and I'll likely wait until it's available for streaming because I ain't going to any movie theaters right now.
Finished the second season of Beastars yesterday, now I want to watch B The Beginning Season 2 or Scissor 7!
This season I really recommend Horimiya. If romance was a speedrunning category Horimiya would hold the world record. It's really good, but it doesn't take over 100 episodes to flesh out the characters before making them date. Instead, Horimiya makes characters date almost instantly, and fleshes out their personalities from there as they learn more about each other, which is how adult relationships actually work.

On the opposite end there's Working!!, one of my all time favourite anime. This is one of those shows where the obvious love candidates start out "incompatible," and it takes a long time for them both to get accustomed to each other's presence. Saying more would spoil it. Just watch it.

For action there's a lot, but I'd go for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia, Yu-Yu Hakusho, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Demon Slayer. Unlike stuff like DBZ and Bleach, fights don't all come down to "I'm stronger than you now die." The characters are generally underpowered and have to strategize in order to push through.

For sports you have Haikyuu, Kuroko no Basket, Initial D, Air Gear, and Sk8 the Infinity. Not much I can say about these shows. It's just sports. If you like sports, you'll like these. If you don't like sports, you might like them as well. I wasn't even into cars before watching Initial D, but for some reason sports anime in particular are very well written, and pretty much every arc is a tournament arc. They're hype.
Air Gear and Sk8 lean more into the dumb side, though.

Another anime I rather like is Dumbbell Nan Kilo Motteru, since I have a slight interest in fitness and stuff. Be warned, though, it's VERY fanservicy.

Attack on Titan is borderline genius, and unlike any other anime I've seen. Dr. Stone and Death Note too.

For mecha you have Gundam, Evangelion, Code Geass...

Then you have more chill anime like Hibike! Euphonium, K-On...

Tearjerking anime like Your Lie in April and A Silent Voice...

Isekai like Digimon, Log Horizon, the comedic masterpiece that is Konosuba, and Re:Zero...

And the last anime I want to recommend is the wholesome harem, 5-toubun no Hanayome. You can't watch anime without having seen what harem is about at least once, and this is a darn good one.

Forgot Kaiji. It's hands down one of the best game anime out there.

I don't want to start a war, but Kakegurui doesn't even come close.

Holy cow, Beastars has an anime adaptation? I just read the whole manga last week. I recently got Netflix so def gonna take a look at that.

I found out about Altered Carbon: Resleeved a few secs ago. I read the books, should be interested.

One of my old time favorite Anime Movie:

Redline (2009) - Not an anime series but def worth watching. A 2009 Japanese animated science fiction racing anime. Futuristic and just damn too amazing to pass up.

Not sure if posting a link will make me banned but try watching a youtube 3min clip of the movie. You'll be hooked!
