Kelefane: CDDA, project zomboid and 7 days to die.
I love CDDA, best quality after vinyl. ;)

GameRager: Aquanox 1 seems fun as well so far(reminds me of waterworld but with underwater colonies and zany people/dialog).
Aquanox is actually Schleichfahrt/Archimedean Dynasty Part 2 - a direct sequel of it... So, to get the most out of the setting, I would recommend playing this first.

Karterii1993: Sorry to derail the topic I just think this is a perfect thread to ask this in..

Can someone explain to me the allure of post-apocalyptic games? I feel like I have the wrong perspective, because I always think "Why should I play a game set in a dead environments, when I could go explore beautiful forests?"

Don't need a detailed explanation to waste your time, I just need some pointers so I can see if I can adjust my mindset better before delving into one of these games.
Never been in the zone (STALKER), don't you?
Try for yourself, no need for words, really.
My top 3 looks like that:

1. Wasteland 1
2. Fallout 1
3. Superhero League of Hoboken
Fallout (1, 2 and New Vegas).
Everything S. T. A. L. K. E. R. (well, except Clear Sky).
The Last of Us. Surprised there's no mention of it.

blotunga: I think I'm one of the few people in the world who like Fallout 2 more than the original.
I do as well.....less of a time limit/deadline, more areas to explore, etc.

It's still fun to play on it's own, but thanks for letting me know about that one. :)

Yeah, I think it's simply most here are PC players.

I'm interested in Days Gone as well. IMO a game like Days Gone with a meaningful resource management system and tower building / defense element would be perfect.
