LinustheBold: Aaaand I was just notified that I got another part, the role of Hubert in Shakespeare's "King John." That means in June I'll be performing in "King John," and rehearsing for July's production of "The Importance of Being Earnest." Awesome! (And I wonder why I never have time to finish any games.)

LinustheBold: I'm playing Lady Bracknell. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS, it should be amazing fun. (Yes, I'm a male - there have been several notable male actors taking on Bracknell, in recent years; I believe there's one scheduled for the West End this summer.)

LinustheBold: Actually, probably not, alas. I would love to get a video of it, but it's an Actors Equity union showcase, and in general Equity prohibits video recording of showcase events (which, in principle, are supposed to involve Union members only in a promotional way - it's one of those cases in which the Union rules, while well-meant, don't quite fit the needs of the workforce).

F4LL0UT: Which beer exactly? I need to know which kind of German beer makes a Pole happy. :D

What I actually came here for: my brother got his PhD a few months ago. He had trouble finding a job because the kind of career he had envisioned when he started his education has basically become unavailable by now. That was quite a depressing situation after such a long academic career, especially since he has a family to take care of. The other day he turned on the TV and saw an old friend who clearly has the kind of job that he is qualifed for. He called her and she said that she should be able to get him a job, just make some calls, introduce him to some people. Haven't seen him in such a good mood in a long time. I have a good feeling about this.
