Maybe GOG could resurrect the "SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics", although I imagine that, for better or worse, multiplayer wouldn't return.

ReynardFox: But most of all, VANQUISH.
Strikes me as a really good fit for the store, though for me that's because it doesn't have multiplayer. :P

Has been delisted on Steam, despite surely good sales. At the reviews i even found a URL to a suspicious link which surely looks more than fishy. Looking at the issue it seems obvious. Not sure what to say, not surprised somehow yet still not something i would expect on the most popular platform:

°°°°°°°°°Exclusive to the Steam and PlayStation 4 version of this collection is the ability to use VR. As of April 28, 2016, the Steam version of this collection features Steam Workshop support, allowing users to submit modifications (ROM hacks) for each game.[3] However, the Steam Workshop for this collection has become filled with pirated ROMs and adult content disguised as mods, due to a lack of moderation of submitted content.[4]

On April 26, 2022, it was announced that Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles would be delisted digitally on May 20, 2022, ahead of the release of Sonic Origins.[5] This made 100% Steam achievement completion of Sega Mega Drive & Genesis Classics impossible to new purchasers, as three of the achievements were only obtainable through the delisted games.[6]

On November 6, 2024, it was announced that all Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Classics game bundles would be delisted from Steam on December 6, 2024.[7] They were delisted three days later than the announced date on December 9, 2024.[8]°°°°°°°°°°°

If Sega wants to move something to GOG... why not but it is not the thing GOG should be focusing at, because something unique and special would provide the best deal, simply being a "true GOG" and not just "a secondary Steam". Just my opinion... and after all, GOG is surely doing fine in many terms.

I mean, the thing is, almost no one even realize the "genius" behind many of those old consoles Sega had in their pocket. I do not even think the Saturn was ever used properly because it was, at its time, not any less complicated than a PS3... a console which is up to this day still a big challenge to emulate.

But the stuff most impressive is the "love for the details" inside every bit of data... while nowadays the "data bloat" is sometimes insane and the coding as ineffective as it gets. Back in the very old days... a OS chip had maybe 64 KB of data stored but it was highly efficient on how this code has been programmed and up to this day, many engineers/reverse engineers still are cracking their head trying to find out how those very small codes actually worked.

Not any less of something truly unique is the most famous RPG on the Saturn, Panzer Dragoon Saga and nowadays one of the most pricey games traded on Ebay with prices only going up even more. The Dreamcast was very developer friendly (kinda same if we compare PS3 with a PS4), so even the Skies of Arcadia port to the Gamecube was no biggie, yet at its time it was ahead of any other consoles and even PCs... yet, very few gamers was actually noticing it. The secrets of the Saturn is still in many parts hidden to us and the ones who was creating it, which was a single digit of people... are soon not reachable anymore and not sure they ever may share their "secrets".

Anyway, if this game even is losing its source code... on such a console... we can only guess how this game truly works at the lowest layers. Sure, emulation is usually possible pretty quick but it is never fully accurate and as higher a emulations accuracy goes as bigger the required knowledge for any "source hardware" and "source software", and it gets increasingly complicated with every bit of additional accuracy we may want to achieve.

But anyway... the Saturn is what i would describe "the console of the mind"... and Dreamcast "the console of the heart". On Dreamcast i had the best experience on Sega games but Saturn is some jewel still able to crack anyones mind with many hidden secrets which are seeking for more understanding, exactly the same for many of the games on the Saturn.

I for one hope that, aside from Atlus titles and Virtua Fighter, that you will be able to save Sonic Heroes from digital purgatory.

Well, the background from a game with a history tainted by a lot of blood and general lack of appreciation.

Panzer Dragoon Saga - What Happened?

Gamers do not necessarily buy the "best" stuff, instead the most popular stuff, which is a clear difference. I would probably not move a single finger "archiving" a game like Fortnite... so i could be held responsible if it is leaving the Earth with a fart at some point. Yet, what truly would hurt me like finest madness is if this game could be gone at some point. Anyway, nowadays there is almost no RPG with the same value on the market, at least it got some sort of appreciation now. It is still not verified officially if the source code is still "laying around" somewhere but with increased time which is passing it the chance having it appear is drastically lowered. At some point Sega may have to accept the dark truth of a game already covered with tainted blood and bad luck, finally leaving it into competent hands who are, hopefully without excessive coins, trying to reverse engineer it. Which is probably never ever able to become profitable, so it can only be done by "finest appreciation"; if we want to get it done before humans along with any art may even fade from Earth, in some unknown way.

Why don't they try it with AI and that GaN thing to sus it out? Fortnite doesn't need to be backed up as given the money its made it likely will be anyway.
The current giant concerns I have are the pre-iOS mobile remakes and sequels that never got a port anywhere else. Thankfully G-Mode Archives is largely covering that on the Japanese end with Switch ports but what about the Korean side? There is a War Of Genesis exclusive story that was only on phones.
Oh my dear... no one making preservation will need to move not even a little finger and Fortnite will just keep bugging us, while some other games... no matter how much nails i am gonna break for them, the survival is in need of tears and blood.

I hope some robber is deleting the source code from that game but i am afraid, the source code could be harder to become killed such as a planet full of rats. I think, humans can make something they, for whatever reason, sufficiently care about almost immortal but it does not look the same for every game.

They even say that game is making someone addicted... well, to me the effect is "run away in fear..." a true horror game in every sense.

Ah well, lets get back to Sega now, yes they got a lot of shiny games but i am afraid, the ones i TRULY want are near impossible to achieve. So i may fall almost asleep but i swear, if they gonna release a game i TRULY want (BoF4 or even better for example) i may need several days in order to find out if i am actually dreaming and the moment the reality seems sufficiently revealed i may be naturally become drugged more excessive than the biggest Fortnite-addict and no one will be able to understand where i got so much drugs from, because no instrument is able to show any "trace".

I am not sure if this AI and GAN is sufficiently capable of. It may work on Fortnite in about an hour, with a profit made equal to the income of the 1 billion poorest humans on Earth... but a game which is not profit, art instead... it is a hard nut to crack for every AI and no funds can really measure it.

If anyone wants AI, then Fortnite is the real deal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri4GopHZeW8

Well, Sega is not really involved with those mobile games.

Yes, they had some interesting releases, such as Phantasy Star Portable 1+2, but it seems those stuff at least from the "fan side" seems to be preserved, but i dunno how it will look for Sega and if they ever are gonna touch it. Those games basically are now "out of service". Still good games, definitely... just with in general low interest into preserving or re-releasing it

The last of the "real PSO" was probably Phantasy Star Zero on 3DS. Phantasy Star Portable 1+2 on PSP was PSU-based. Nowdays, this series changed a lot, but "the best" of it left is probably PSO2 (without Genesis...) and Phantasy Star Nova. The others are not really worth it to be mentioned. So, yes, Sega surely was making some portable and online-"stunts" there.

Korea got, same as Japan, a very solid "mobile market". The game surely able to impress me to some extend on a mobile platform was "Heroes Lore Zero":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxNqx05UePU&list=PLmbfd1mTrFtuei5qujEVClEv5h1MGBjIB&index=2
It was part of a series back at those very old days with Java-phones, which was able to set a new benchmark in mobile games. Although this title was never arriving "in the West", same for a huge amount of other mobile games. However, on the Korean market it was very successful.

HOTD is a source code issue but it did get a Windows PC release back in the day.

I would rather not get Crazy Taxi unless they get all the licensing in there.

Honestly for an XBox related game I would like "Quest Of D" and Virtua Cop 3.
It would be really nice to have any of the Puyo Puyo games, especially the older ones which have not been rereleased. I believe PC versions already exist for 1, 2, 3, and 5 (Fever), all of which have only been released in Japan and would therefore require some amount of localization. They're all quite simple where one should be able to experience most of the game without understanding the language anyway, and further, the task of translation may be more trivial than other games due to a lack of regular dialogue.

Of these games, Puyo Puyo Fever only received a PC release in Japan, however, the entire English localization exists in the game data where one can fully enable the English version by modifying their save file (the language seems to be tied to file.) By doing this, the game plays like a PC version identical to the international console versions besides minor PC-related differences like non-functioning online and keyboard controls. The online is handled externally from the actual game (in a launcher); probably the largest consideration would be whether to re-implement it or cut it entirely (which may be necessary.)

In a circumstance where console games are eligible to be released as well, what I would like most is an HD version of Puyo Puyo 7, which has only ever released on standard definition consoles.

Realistically, I'm not sure there is enough demand for these games to be released over other titles (at least in the west), but I also personally think the amount of 2D grid / falling-block puzzle games on GOG is really sparse and could use more variation among those which exist already.

I would be happy with almost any older SEGA game, but I am especially interested in those which have never been rereleased.
