When other forums I have visited have the option to do so anyways?

What is the reason why we can't edit our thread titles by ourselves?

Because GOG.

(you've been around here long enough. You should know that fixing or improving the forum has a very low priority for GOG)

Apparently only a very small minority of GOG's user base use the forum. So why should GOG bother much? I'm sure they're also busy with other stuff.

I'm still waiting for "delete post".

I accidentally put something in the wrong thread, but I can't delete it, so I edit it to "nevermind" or "NVM" and immediately I have people downrepping it because they assume that, rather than it being a mistake, it was something inappropriate that I changed to avoid getting kicked.

That is because your privacy settings are (presumably) set to the default of your chat only being open to friends. You'd either need to add Linko to your friends, or open your chat to "everyone".
