***This giveaway has now ended ***

like it's a tetralogy after all.

Two GoG copies of X3: Terran War Pack (containing X3: Terran Conflict and X3: Albion Prelude) have been jettisoned somewhere deep in a Xenon core sector and will only be uncovered and handed over to two lucky winners in the fourth edition of this giveaway.

You're probably bored to death of this whole routine by now, so I'll cut to the chase and repost the rules:

Rules:
1. Post here to say you're in for the giveaway (can't win if you're not in).
2. Sign up because you want to play the games, not because you want to collect and shelf the games.
***Update***
[removed]3. The winners will be chosen randomly in two weeks from today (on a Saturday or a Sunday).[/removed]
3. The winners will be decided on a "first come, first served" basis, as long as they agree to the above and below points.

4. You must swear a sacred oath to uphold your end of the bargain, as described below under "Responsibilities".
5. The winner can give the game to someone else (or you can participate for someone else and then pass along the codes), as long as that certain someone agrees to uphold point 4.

Responsibilities (aka "the winner has to"):

1. Play at least one of the games in sandbox or campaign mode.
2. Record and post an X3 diary in the X Series thread for the first 7 days of game-play (actual in-game time). In total there have to be at least seven posts, each taken at a 1 day interval (1st post after 1 day spent in the game, not an actual day spent playing the game IRL, and so on). The diary entries should contain at least one screenshot and a short summary of what the player has been doing in the game so far (it can be captain's log style, or you can turn it into a space-adventure novel if you wish).
***Update***
3. An exemption from 1 and 2 will be granted if the winner decides the game(s) is/are too horrendous to play and log. Xenon capital ships will then be dispatched to his home planet for orbital bombardment. Don't do it, you'll damn us all!

Split suggest you get silent and fight!

Not in, but bumping this great giveaway. People enter this! You won't regret it, X3 is one of the best sandbox games ever. I've spend hundreds of hours playing the series and even now sometimes I dig them out :).
Happy to see you are keeping this going with new giveaways :)
Hmmm... so nobody's interested in playing these beauties?

That makes no sense, you lose profit!
Tut tut! Better take out some of that escort before starting the boarding op.

Well, I always do that, but some people like to live boardings on the edge.

Might I once again suggest linking to some of the previous winners discharging their responsibilities? It may help to induce some entries.
+1 for the GA.

I'm holding out for X7.
A good alternative to a slow paced multi-player online game.

A marvelous idea!

These are testimonies from some of the winners of previous giveaway installments:

I hope you'll be able to see that the responsibilities I've set out are hardly that imposing... in fact I've subjected myself to the same "rigors" :P.

We also have a couple of ex-winners that have not been very faithful to their solemn oaths as of now... I have not yet caused them any physical harm, but that's mostly because I'm still polishing and sharpening the spikes on my morning star.

While I sort of anticipated a shortage in the space-pilot-with-empire-buliding-aspirations population, is nobody interested in participating?

We usually had at least one signer-up in the first couple of days...

Tell you what, I'll even throw in a GOG copy of Torchlight 2 to the first winner, as determined by the fates. In case we only get two potential candidates, that will mean a free copy to the first person willing to participate.

I'm interested yet undecided as I'm unsure whether or not the amount of research that I've come to understand is required to play and enjoy the game will prove to be a turn-off for me (it probably will if a lot of it is necessitated by bugs). Now, I do consider the diary requirement both fair and a great idea but I don't like committing to something if there's a real chance it might turn out to be a drag (and consequently a disappointing experience for all involved, especially the generous soul who gifted me the game).

It's too bad Egosoft only provides rolling demos and demos that are copy-protected using Star-Force.

There are plenty of and tutorial videos out there though. Just grab some popcorn and see if you're into the gameplay.

Thanks, I already have though and it's just not the same as trying it out for yourself.

Yeah, I know what you mean and can't argue with that. Well, you still have some time to think about it... perhaps reconsider :).
