nicohvc: is X2 a good way to start? I'm intrigued by this game series since a few years ago but I've never tried them.
Same here and I've owned all the X games for ages... but I think I will start it from the first game, just because. Same as I've done with e.g. the Heroes of the Magic, The Elder Scrolls and Civilization series, starting from the very beginning.

MightyPinecone: Yeah, I have a hard time thinking someone spend hours modelling that ship, and not once thought: "Hey, this kinda looks like a cock and balls".
It's a station I believe, orbiting the planet Crotch :).

"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational battle station!"
Just came across this video discussing the gameplay in Foundations. It certainly continues to sound interesting....the new station building looks like it might be pretty neat, and quite a bit easier then it was in TC/AP. Also, happy to hear that you can pretty much own and fly just about every ship in the game, unlike Rebirth.

This basically seals the deal... and if the AI isn't half bad at flying and "surviving" this could be the game we've all been looking for.
All the X games I've played suffer from the same problem; trying to run an empire from the cockpit of a spaceship isn't fun.
I always wished the station parts would snap into each other as building the perfect complex might be fun ONCE at the most for those who love building things.

I hope setting up voice commands is made a bit easier too, built in or not.

Aye, we could use better tools for giving orders to our fleets.
