Hello everyone,

I come to you because I tested for four days the game I installed, which is CYBERPUNK 2077 by launching it with the platform GOG GALAXY version: 2.0.60.2 - Beta. And I would like to know for the people who have the game if you met the same problem as me, please I really need your help, because I made a ticket on GOG and the person in charge of the ticket has no idea, hence the fact that I ask for help on this forum by creating a new topic, and hoping that they answer me because I am a person disabled in the arms.

Thank you in advance if one or more people would like to help me.

In this message I will describe what I did as a test and I would like to have your opinion about the bug I had, to know if it comes from the game or if the bug comes from the GOG GALAXY platform, with the error "GalaxyClient.exe" that I have when I install and uninstall the application, with the failing module which is: Qt5Network.dll.
First of all the GOG GALAXY platform launches well and I have no bugs, then the CYBERPUNK 2077 game that I installed from the platform launches well also there is no problem when I land in the start page of the game or when I start playing the game.

However, the problem I am having and this is where I need your help is when I am looking at "XBOX GAME BAR" from a controller (an Xbox 360 gamepad), because at the moment I can only play from a controller because of my arms.

When I look at "XBOX GAME BAR" already when my computer is just started, I can only look at it six times and then "XBOX GAME BAR" freezes, the game freezes and then crashes the game and that makes my NVIDIA graphics drivers "nvlddmkm" and "Display" are the errors in red and warning that I receive in the "Windows 10 Event Viewer" three times in the "System" part and knowing that I have three screens on my Setup that makes my three screens bugged with black screens and then return to normal.

When I look at the Windows 10 control panel for the errors described above, it tells me that I have a hardware error by giving me the error that is not in red or yellow but just in the title of information "LiveKernelEvent" in "Windows 10 Event Viewer" in the "Application" part, so I look not only at the control panel, but also at the event viewer.

When I get this error I look at the device manager of my computer to see where the hardware error is and to tell you there is none.
Then to get everything back to normal I have to reboot my computer to get my NVIDIA graphics drivers back to normal. Because it displays in the control panel my audio drivers of my three screens which is not normal, this is the only problem I could see when the game crashed for the platform.

Afterwards when my computer is restarted I can look at "XBOX GAME BAR" at least fourteen times before I get the above described bug with the game CYBERPUNK 2077.

When I don't look at the XBOX GAME BAR everything is fine and I don't have any bugs with the CYBERPUNK 2077 game and I can play for at least eight hours without having the above described bug with my graphics drivers.

To know if it was the platform bug or the game itself. I also tested "XBOX GAME BAR" with another platform which is STEAM and by launching the game "A PLAGUE OF TALES - INNONCENCE" by testing with my controller at least twenty-eight times "XBOX GAME BAR" and I did not have any game crash with the problem described above.

On the other hand with this platform when I restart my computer and I play "DOOM ETERNAL" I have to force the closing of this game from the "task manager" because I hear the game but I have no image on the startup page of the game and this gives me the same error that I described above, I have to crash my game and my graphic drivers. I have to crash my game and my graphic drivers. Then I get the image of the start page and play the game "DOOM ETERNAL".

On the other hand, with the game "DOOM ETERNAL", when I just start my computer I can have the start page of the game normally and the sound of the game and everything goes well. And I don't need to go to the "task manager" to force the game to close, so it crashes, I think you understand.
I come to my questions and to your knowledge to know if my problem comes from the platform GOG GALAXY with the error "GalaxyClient.exe" or from the game CYBERPUNK 2077, or I realized that there is a huge bug.

So my questions are for this part:
1) After what I described to you concerning the bug that I have with your platform GOG GALAXY concerning the game CYBERPUNK 2077, is it that it comes from your platform because there is a failing module which is: Qt5Network.dll and which gives me the error "GalaxyClient.exe" when I install and uninstall the application?

2) Or does the bug I described come directly from the game CYBERPUNK 2077?
Because I am skeptical since I have the same error with "DOOM ETERNAL" but on the STEAM platform

If someone can answer these questions, I'd be really grateful, because I'm completely lost at this level, and it's way too technical for me, because I still have limited knowledge.

I have updated my NVIDIA graphics drivers on 14/03/2023 with the version : 531.29 for a graphics card : ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080 SUPER.

Thank you if you can help me.

Report your graphics driver crashes to Nvidia. See How to provide valuable feedback to NVIDIA in particular the last section, Applications/Games crashing to desktop or causing PC to BSOD.

Ask yourself if you really need the Windows Game Bar. Most of its features are present in your graphics driver package.

I also noticed GalaxyClient.exe crashing with faulting module Qt5Network.dll upon installation, and another user reported the same. It hasn't occurred again during normal use, so I see no reason to worry about it.
The new driver does not seem to be really stable. I had a few display resets today already when using bordered and windowed modes and alt tabbing. No crashes or something, black/white screens due to display resets.

Best to use the "Studio" drivers rather than the "Game Ready" ones. I'll take stability over the newest wonky hotness any day of the week, which the Studio drivers provide. Also, avoiding automatic driver updates is always a good idea just for such scenario. NVIDIA has had a really terrible run with their newest drivers lately.
XBOX GAME BAR is one of the first things I getting rid of after a fresh win install, it is just trash bloatware.

Hello everyone,

I'm going to send a message to NVIDIA with the link you gave me, but what is really weird is that I just have this problem with CYBERPUNK 2077.

1) What I would like to know is, does anyone have the same problem as me with this game? For those who have the game CYBERPUNK 2077, because I can play eight hours of this game without having any problem, but when I watch XBOX GAMEBAR several times with this game it crashes.

2) Is the bug I encountered with XBOX GAME BAR with the game CYBERPUNK 2077 coming directly from the game?

Because I tested to know if it came from the platform the bug or the game itself. I also tested "XBOX GAME BAR" with another platform which is STEAM and by launching the game "A PLAGUE OF TALES - INNONCENCE" by testing with my controller at least twenty-eight times "XBOX GAME BAR" and I did not have any game crash with my graphic drivers.

3) When you tell me about the Windows Game Bar you are talking about XBOX GAME BAR I suppose?

4) Most of its features are present in your graphics driver package.
Ok and you know-where can I find its features in my graphics driver package without using XBOX GAME BAR? because I don't know what you are talking about at all?

I'm not worried about it either, but I'm still reporting the problem to the GOG service, because it's not normal after a month where we've all been struggling with "GalaxyClientServices.exe" that we get another error just by installing and uninstalling their application, while in their old version there was no "GalaxyClient.exe" error.

In addition they tell me that this error comes from my antivirus software which is Windows defender in most cases...

Hello neumi5694

1) When you talk about the driver not being really stable, are you talking about NVIDIA graphics drivers?

2) I already had some display resets today when using the edge modes, are you talking about when you played the game CYBERPUNK 2077? or when you played another game on the GOG.COM platform?

Hello PSE

Okay, but personally and as I explained to Glace_Mage I had crashing problems that when using XBOX GAME BAR with a Controller, if I don't look at XBOX GAME BAR several times, I can play CYPERPUNK 2077 normally.

So I wonder if it's not the game itself for the bug I described in my first message, because I don't have this problem with my other games on my other platforms, when I use XBOX GAME BAR.

I don't know if you know the LDLC store but they are computer specialists and they advised me to use the "GAME READY" drivers and to update them manually when I update my graphics drivers, so I go to the NVIDIA site to update them, I did it manually.

Thank you all for your answers and I hope that with this message I will have expressed myself better.

Sincerely

What features of the DirectXBox/Windows Game Bar are you looking for?

Can you (concisely) explain what you're using it for.

Also, no need to capitalise names - it makes following your wall of text harder.
Good evening pds41

What I'm looking for when I use Xbox game bar is to see what each program I'm using consumes as found in the task manager.

This allows me to know if the game consumes too much ram, gpu, cpu, vram and fps. This way I can see if I need to lower certain parameters in my games or if I can increase them, and also change my audio outputs directly, without having to leave the game.

It works, I'll avoid it next time.

GeForce Experience overlay can do performance monitoring (enable in Geforce Experience, click settings and customise the overlay).

Otherwise, if you need something more detailed, use MSI Afterburner with Riva Statistics. That can pretty much show you anything.

To be honest unless you've got rubbish cooling and less than 16GB RAM and 8GB VRAM (unless you're using RTX), all you really need to worry about is overall FPS and 1% lows; provided they're acceptable based on how you perceive frames and microstutter, you're good.

Audio output, yeah, can't help you there without alt-tabbing unless your audio card drivers let you do it via hotkey.

So I couldn't use Geforce Experience, because it had caused me problems with my graphics drivers and when I went to see computer technicians, they told me to uninstall this program because it caused a lot of problems during automatic updates, so now I do my updates manually for my graphics drivers.

Riva Statistics I have, I should test and learn to use it. While I'm at it, you seem to use this program, can you tell me what it shows?

I have a Rog Strix RTX 2080 Super graphics card, so no I have never seen zero cooling with less than 16GB of RAM and 8GB of VRAM
What does that do for an RTX ?

I will admit that I never cared about the FPS, because I always leave them at 60 by default in a game and that's enough for me

Are you talking about the 1% lows on the processor level? Because if not I'm at 56% with CYBERPUNK 2077 for example.

Uh... sorry but what do you mean by micro stuttering? are they little bugs in the images or lags in the images? Because if so I don't have any of that.

If I can do it with Alt Tab ... well I think so. After all it depends on the game too because on some games I have to quit and others not. In fact XBOX Game Bar saves me from opening a program and it's just faster and more convenient I think for my use.

What I would like to know is do you have the game CYBERPUNK 2077?

And if you do, do you have any idea why it doesn't work with this "Xbox Game bar" game, but with other games I can use it? Because it's still weird to know if my bug is related to the game or to the GOG Galaxy platform, that's what I want to know.

But thank you for your information, I'll take note of it.

OK. So, as you limit to 60fps and don't know what microstutter (or 1% lows) are, you're probably not sensitive to frame-rates and drops, so you probably don't need to worry about them.

1% lows are the lowest 1% of frame rates. Generally, when you're playing a game, you won't get a constant 60fps in games - there will be natural fluctuations caused by the game engine, your hardware and the setup. Microstutter is the phenomenon where you have a good average FPS but your 1% or 0.1% lows are low enough to be able to perceive "choppiness" or "stutter" in the framerate when you're playing.

MSI Afterburner with Riva statistics basically will give you per thread reporting on your CPU including clocks, usage and temperatures, RAM usage, frame times, FPS, 1% lows, 0.1% lows, GPU clock speed, VRAM and RAM usage, VRAM clocks etc. It's highly customisable so I'd recommend doing some googling.

Given your setup, I wouldn't worry too much about RAM usage, CPU usage etc - you've got a good GPU for 1080P which is also pretty good at 1440P (although not really good enough for ray tracking on 2022/2023 games)

As you're using a 2080s, I don't see why you should have had issues with Geforce Experience. It's a pretty solid piece of software and the auto-updating of drivers is a good thing. I'm not sure why a technician told you not to use it, but it won't cause problems with your drivers - it's nVidia's own preferred method to deliver you driver updtaes.

Anyway, as for Cyberpunk, no, I don't own the game, although I do own other RedEngine Games (Witcher 2 and 3). The Windows Game Bar seems to work with Witcher 3 fine, although it is an overlay, so it's the type of thing that I generally try to avoid using as I've often found that overlays don't play nicely with games.

I don't really see what a microstutter is, that's why I asked you the question. I don't think so because I have a very large configuration, but when I play I'll try to see if I have one, but I'm surprised because the games I play are very fluid.

I can see what a microstutter is, but I don't have one. Because for me I call it image lagues, we don't have the same appellation for the time. But thank you for explaining it to me, I understand better now.

Yes, I will really have to look into the use of Riva statistics, to know how it is used. Thanks for the explanations.

I also have a screen that can go up to 2K, yes that's why I'm above 1080p, because my graphics card and my screen support it.

So I'll tell you why I don't use it for GeForce Experience, because when I was doing my automatic updates my screen was putting me out of range and I was getting a black screen. So the technicians advised me not to use Geforce Experience, because I had problems with some of the graphic drivers, after doing the update manually doesn't bother me it's not complicated to do.

But do you know the difference between "Studio" and "Game Ready" drivers for NVIDIA drivers?

It's a good idea. Ah well, with The Witcher 3 and the old versions of GOG Galaxy when I was looking at the Xbox Game bar I had no problem with the graphics drivers.

Have you played the witcher 3 recently and the Windows game bar "Xbox game bar" worked well with this game?

I ask you this question because it saves me from reinstalling the witcher 3 and testing, as it takes me several days. To know if it comes from the graphic drivers, the GOG platform, the Cyberpunk 2077 game etc...

Because with what you told me, I think that the Cyberpunk 2077 game just doesn't support Xbox Game bar and that it makes my graphic drivers jump, so I think that the bug I have just comes from the game.

Okay thanks for the heads up, I think in the future I'll avoid using Xbox Game Bar since it's an overlay.
