Hey xyem! Always good to see you around here :) Good luck on the scales. What method are you using to lose weight?
Best of wishes with shedding those extra pounds, xyem.
I know I should lose some myself.

End of week #1, where I added popcorn as a snack (to prevent me seeking worse snacks) and I am now 4.3% towards the target. The winner will be selected from the posts up to and including #62.

I'm quite happy with this rate of loss, if it was to continue (very aware that it likely will not). I'm not in any rush though :) As long as it generally heads in the right direction.

No changes planned for next week.

That's great progress! Congrats!
Good luck.
As somebody who also is trying to lose weight (and has successfully a decent amount already), here's my casual "pro" tips for anyone who might be interested:

There is only one way to lose weight: calorie deficit. You need to ingest less calories than you burn, period. Every method, diet, technique, treatment, etc., is a mean to reach this end. Understanding this is fundamental to achieving weight loss.

Cutting carb does indeed work. I wouldn't try to completely cut carb because it just doesn't seem healthy, but reducing carbs by a big margin will make your diet much easier. My suggestion is to avoid rice and bread.

Physical exercises help a lot and losing weight without exercising is very, very hard. If you burn a lot of calories with exercises, you'll be able to have a less restrictive diet and still reach a calorie deficit. Be careful because if you are overweight it means you probably don't have the habit of exercising and thus are more susceptible to injuries which will slow the whole thing down.

Industrialized food is bad for you. It has too much salt, too much sugar, too much fat, too much preservatives, too much crap in general. It also loses a lot of it's nutritional value before reaching your plate. The more you learn to cook and prepare food yourself from raw ingredients, the better off you are as far as having a healthy lifestyle, which I believe is the end game to most diets.

There's certain things you can eat as much as you want of and lose weight:

Any none starchy vegetable (ie types of potato)
Lean protein sources - chicken, fish (many are oily but these are good fats that help you lose bodyfat)
Lentils/Beans/Chick Peas - provide energy while maintaining positive blood sugar levels and really help losses because they stop you cheating
Tinned tomatoes
Salads

Eat as much as the low calories food above as often as possible and in as large a portions as you want because you will be so full you won't want. Have small portions of rice/potatoes alongside.

Avoid all fried food and ideally food that isn't prepared by yourself. Avoid all breads. Avoid deserts/alcohol/sweets and replace with fruit.

Exercise - all is good but the more calories the better, which means low intensity.

WALK, WALK, WALK - easy to do but can you possibly do several miles a day? If you can do 10 miles a day the weight will drop off. But 2-3 miles a day will also help.

Keep at it and don't give up, it's a journey, especially with all that walking.

Also I'm IN

Good job !
Good job!

I myself lost around 7~9kg since September, which is quite great....
I believe in good soup. Any soup that starts the meal should be great. Also it's tasty and healthy, you should try that.
