I think you might have put the wrong release date/time in the settings for Yooka-Laylee. It's over 7 hours into April 11th and it's still not available for download.

Since when does "release date" mean the next day? Lol isn't it traditional to release games at midnight on the release date?

I had to wait more than 10 hours at release day of Beat Cop, so it's not a rare thing. Just watch some Netflix, or kill time with other stuff.

Not really. Nowadays, PC games usually get released at 10 AM PDT (in about 2 hours).

No, it's not. Because that would mean retail stores would have to host a midnight event for you to be able to get your game, and that the postman would have to be ringing doorbells in the middle of the night to deliver your mail ordered game. Middle of the day is much more traditional, as Grargar already said.

Hmm, I always thought games were delivered a day early as often as possible, and I know they've done midnight releases for some games here in the US. You're posting to a forum though, so you must know this is the digital age where you can have a world wide release at midnight in the first time zone, right?

Looks like they realized the time was set wrong, I see the files now :) Thanks all

First time zone where? The +14, the +0 or the -11? (Which does incidentally means that you can have a place where it's tomorrow and a different place where it's yesterday, while you can call both of them from today).

It varies wildly from game to game and studio to studio. Huge AAA games from big developers (and publishers) tend to have these "event" releases, but Yooka-Laylee is hardly Medal of Duty 47: Killshooter.
If the devs had wanted to do a N.A.-timezone midnight release, they would have. Apparently, they didn't :)
Why everyone got downrated???
