Ever since the site redesign, YouTube videos have never worked on my phone. I click play, the image flashes, and that's it.

Is that everyone else's experience? It's been like that on 2 different Android versions on 2 different phones from 2 different manufacturers.

Thanks!
You need to visit (or enable) the desktop site in whatever browser you happen to be using on your phone, then the videos should play...

This happened to me a few days ago, while browsing GoG on my phone during the last sale...

It is, and they usually are the best...

I only happened to find it while testing a few different browsers for a new(ish) phone I had recently purchased.

Anyway, no problem. :)

I've been facing the same frustrating issue with YouTube videos not playing on my phone ever since the site redesign. It's not just a one-time occurrence; this problem persists across two different Android versions and two distinct phones from different manufacturers. Clicking play results in a brief flash, and then nothing happens. It's disheartening to see such a widely experienced issue. Has anyone found a reliable solution? On a related note, considering the persistence of this problem, exploring alternatives like YouTube Vanced could be worthwhile. For those still grappling with playback issues, visiting (ytvancedpro.com/youtube-vanced-alternatives) might provide some useful insights and potential solutions.
Hello, One of mine closest friends were facing same issue and then he found a forum where all videos are smoothly running even after redesigning and updates. I think you should try it. There it is (www.youtubevanced.tools).
