Ubivis: (...)I am storing all the codes there(...)
Given that I have absolutely no experience with this, I'll just show how dumb I am and ask something likely enough completely silly!
If the 'codes' can be stored over longer periods of time, wouldn't it be possible to take advantage of the 'Wednesday game promotions' or other such sales and get a certain discount on the gifts? If you happen to get a 50% discount, you could always purchase two games instead of just one, if you want to!

sometimes happens... when I have donated a 10er by myself from time to time, I took 2 or 3 discounted games a few times :) More to win in December

reaver894: i gotta bump this.
Good idea. It might need to be bumped again in about 4 weeks time as well - I usually start thinking about buying christmas presents around 4-5pm the 24th of december, and with a user base this big, I'm probably not the only one..

Anyway. While I'm willing to donate a few games for this, it's the ever recurring question of what games to gift, and how the recipient is going to be picked. If I understand correctly, there will be puzzels and stuff that need to be solved to claim the prize. That's good - if it's too random, or just a matter who's fastest to copy&paste or whatever, it kind of feels like sitting on a bus and throwing money out the window. While the money/code surely is appriciated by whomever gets to it first, it's not the same as "Hey, that guy really wants to play the game XYZ. I absolutely loved that game back in the days - I want to give it to him so that he can enjoy it too". The latter makes it more personal, even if you have no idea who the other is, and makes it more "worth" it. If that makes any sense.

So, how to pick games to gift? One could gift the top five bestsellers - chances are these are games people actually want. On the other hand, however, being bestsellers chances are the recipeints already have said games. Further, there are plenty of games here that only certain people find interesting (for various reasons, be it nostalgia or genre etc), and even though such a gift (to someone who'd not even bother to download it) would be helpful to GOG as it'd be a sale that would otherwise never happen, I prefer to support GOG in a way that gives them happy customers and not just money.

Comments/suggestions anyone?
I will donate some funds as soon as I am able, most likely next week.

Yes, the ChipIn has expired and all the gifts needed are already collected, but feel free to donate more (prefered codes) that there will be more than one gift per Day :)
