Ok, I figured I would ask this to the GOG community as some of you may have more knowledge about this than I do. First off, in order to halt some questions right off the bat, some things to keep in mind:

1: No, I will not buy an AMD card. That's final.
2: No, I will not buy a standard monitor instead.
3: I don't want an SLI system at this time.
4: I will not wait for Kepler, mainly due to EVGA step-up.
5: This will be run in single monitor set up only.

Now, I'm trying to decide on a 3d monitor to get for the new rig I'm building. I'm planning on using a single EVGA GTX 580 3gb Classified. The two monitors I've had in mind are:

Asus VG278H 27 inch Nvidia Vision 2 3d Monitor
Acer HN274H bmiiid Nvidia Vision 1 3d Monitor

The Asus VG278H is sold out. Everywhere. It's backordered until the 20th on a few different sites, but I don't know if that date is an estimate or confirmed. The Acer is available and cheaper, but it is the original 3d technology. The Acer Nvidia vision 2 monitor has only been released in Europe (Germany and France), and no set dates have been announced for a US release date.

So, for those of you with experience in this field, do I take a chance and wait for the Asus monitor to come in? Or do I bite the bullet and buy the older gen Acer monitor since it's available?
Anyone? Anyone with 3d monitor experience?
honest response? don't bother it's just not worth the hassle and expense at the moment

I want the 3D for when I want to use it and for future games. Majority of games will still be playing in standard mode. It's not like the 3D monitor is ONLY 3d. Plus, from what I've read the 3d monitors are excellent for standard gaming as well.
