A farewell!

OK, so the next year is pretty crucial to me, I have to do a lot of studying, and do it well. During the last months, I've spent a lot of time with my PC, playing games and checking out this forum (I don't post all that much, but I read quite a lot), and all this has taken away too much of my time.

Recently, Skyrim held me in thrall, I've already sunken almost 70 hours into it, and I really can't afford keeping this up. My participation on this forum has increased, too, I've found the thread about racism in games engrossing enough to litter it with posts about topics like art theory (most of them improbably pretentious, it's true, jefequeso, you little bugger. But pretentiousness really isn't something bad, as is arrogance, by the way, at least the real, honest-to-god kind, that isn't a result of hidden inner insecurities, because that kind of arrogance implies a genuine talent or trait that is deserving of it, and is being humble about being a great football player, for example, really more evolved than acknowledging and even celebrating it? I kind of find it hard to admire humble persons, it makes it more difficult to look up to them. So take a good look at this kind of pointless apropos-of-nothing rambling, because you're not gonna see it anymore).

I thought about just leaving, but I need something more final to strengthen my decision, which is why I'm making this farewell post. GOG is a cool service, and this is a cool community, I especially enjoyed the get together of gamers from so many different nations and threads like the current one about national stereotypes or the respectful questions to GOGers from other nationalities. So thanks to Aliasalpha, StingingVelvet, Wishbone, orcishgamer, SimonG, Navagon, Vestin, hedwards, Delixe, Fenixp, Starmaker, Kunovski, TrollumThinks and all the others I can't all name here, for the (heated) discussions we had, or simply the interesting posts I got to read. Also, thanks again to homersimpson for Total Annihilation. The only gift competition I ever entered was one of yours, and I immediately won a game, how lucky I am.

I'm gonna take a gaming sabbatical, too, although I'll probably have to make an exception for Mass Effect 3, even if that game comes with always-on DRM, an installation limit of one, and a creepy guy who follows you around everywhere and checks your computer for illegal content. Oh, sweet Liara, how could I possibly deny you?

But you aren't, which is why I'll leave here a code for Baldur's Gate, the best game known to man.

7HBL-FMLP-HYQ2-SG5?

*Logging you out, Jaime*
good luck to you.
I wish you good luck and thanks for the game (not I did not redeem it since I already have it)!
Redeemed by some lucky guy, it was G, I was too late, anyways thanks for your generosity Jaime!
I think I've only seen you a couple of times on the forum, nonetheless, it's always unpleasant to see a fellow gamer leave a community.

Good luck in your studies and come back when you're done... yo.
Toodles! Stay golden!
This community is full of generosity.

YOU ARE DOING IT AGAIN!

Heh, bye, and best of luck :-) You should probably have your internet disconnected until you are finished studying :-P
Good luck with your studies!
Odd timing - you should at least stick around until Jan and have Christmas with us!
Good luck with your studies, after which I'm sure you'll be back - like Arnie!
Take care, and may you achieve what you're aiming for!

Good Luck! But remember, don't work to hard, life is too short for just work.

And at least I valued your posts. But you will be back...
