A lot of people did a lot of great bugfixes/lists/GOGmixes, that are of a great help. One of the mayor ideas of the GOGwiki is to capture all those information we have gathered here.

As we do not want any ugly examples like this here, we are working on a policy to avoid unwanted plagiarism. This is the current idea (excerpt from the guidelines):

2. Thou shall not steal

Do not just copy and paste from sources outside of GOG.com. […]

Concerning information from the forums: Please ask in the corresponding threads for the authors consent before putting their work here. We also have a list of “benefactors”. There you can find all the people from the GOG community that have allowed the use of their posts on the GOG.com forums on this wiki. Please check this list to see if you may copy a user's posts.

If a user has disapeared from the forums for good. Then use his/her information but give him/her the credit for the work done.

I know this is in no way legally binding and it may as well not even be necessary. But I think this should be common courtesy amongst us. With the “benefactor” list (still searching for a better word) we wouldn’t have to ask all the time. The list would be on the wiki as well as on the forum (similar to the PM verification thread).

So, what do you think?
