Psyringe: Play on , or have a look at [url=http://www.vassalengine.org/index.php]Vassal, an engine for online boardgaming with modules for hundreds of games.
Thanks; I'll check them out.

mistermumbles: Have you tried looking into local gatherings in your area? The bigger your city the more likely it is that there are people like you looking for some board game action. I found my current board game night event through Meetup (sometimes these things can be found through reddit as well). It's a good sized event, too, with usually 40+ of us basically taking over an entire pub/restaurant during a weekday night. Good times. :)
Very small town, the kind of place where only fast food survives. I'll look, though, but I suspect I'll only find something if I venture about thirty miles away.

Wishbone: I've tried it a couple of times. It's extremely simple to learn and play, but quite fun. Don't expect to spend an entire afternoon on it though. It's quite short, and I don't think you'll want to play more than a few games in a row.
Well, the problem is that I don't have many friends who would play highly strategic, long games. I plan on finding more friends when I go to college in the fall, but until then, I need a game for the whole family.
