Tindreal: 1. Seems 4 pages were too long for you to read, so I sum it up for you (3rd or 4th time now?):
-the game is Vista/7 "compatible" by default, GOG did not have to do anything to make it work
2. -by "compatible" I mean that it can run, but it is not playable due to scaling issues (scaling issues seem to be fixed in the expansion) and Sound system error that crashes the game so this product is way not in shape to be sold as it is now for Vista but GOG is still selling it. This is actually an offense by them and they could be fined if they don't fix it.
When the game crashes with Sound system error, there is a chance that the player can tab back and continue with looping music and sound effects, but there was time when I got 2(!) sound system error in 2 min and was not able to tab back after the 2nd...(there was time when I wasn't able to continue even after the 1st one)...
Oh and for you, before you yell troll, read the topic.
1. It doesn't matter if they didn't have to do anything to make it work in newer OSs with regards to your accusations.
2. It doesn't work for you and some other people. This does not make it totally vista incompatible though for all Vista users. Also as I mentioned earlier if the game starts in Vista(32/64 bit) then it's Vista compatible.......it's just not playable(playable as in the sound issues bother you they don't make the game unplayable period) for you and some others due to sound issues. And no they can't be fined for it if they don't fix it as they don't deal with fixing minor game bugs.....and it is the consumer's job to find out about any such bugs remaining for any number of players or not in any GOG games and then deciding to buy them based on that info, not GOG's job.

Tindreal: 1. Seems for some people it is hard to understand, but I try again.
Yes there is since the seller is selling an item that can not be played on Vista (or 7), but they do not mention that "It runs on Vista, but you can't play it". This is a bug that has been around for years and GOG is selling it. without asking the publisher for a fix or even trying to fix it by themself (if a modder was able to fix the expansion disk with an exe, a shop with much higher resources can't?).
2. In other words, GOG needs to change the supported OS to Windows XP ONLY. And the "Hey, I just take the money, I dont care if it works" theory is not something GOG should use, so please don't inspire them.
3. And yes, they could be fined, since their product page is misleading and they do not mention that bugs on Windows Vista make the game not work correctly resulting in an unplayable game.
1. No it's hard for you to understand our POV on the subject and for you to admit you might be wrong here.
As for asking the publisher for a fix they could but the publisher might not want to(due to having to use time and money to fix an old issue on an old title.) or might not be able to(if they lost the source code, which does happen sadly with some IP holders.). Also GOG can't heavily modify the game code as it's against their contracts with the IP holders in most cases, and even if they got permission it might not be an easy fix for GOG(the problem could be with user hardware/software combainations and out of their control to fix, etc.).
2. It's legal though......buyer beware and all that rot goes part and parcel with buying anything used or old. Did you not learn this growing up? Should GOG and all store hold your hand because you can't use common sense when buying things?
3. They only say they make the game compatible(startable) in those OSs, not that everyone running every hardware/software combo on the planet with those OSs will be able to play the games beyond startup without any problems.

Tindreal: 1. Seems it is hard for some people to understand that selling something that doesn't work is an offense and they should not sell it. Who cares if it is the developer's fault? Did the developer sell me the not working game? No, the distributor did. Did the distributor ask for a fix? No. (And if they did and didn't get a fix, why are they still selling it?) And this is not an isolated case, too many users have it.
But thanks for the trolls for clearing up a few things.
2. At least I now know that GOG is not legitimate on some parts. Older games that they sell is like Schrödinger's cat and they sell it even if it is unplayable.
3. I let this one slide and I won't report them to the authorities since seems many people agree with that it is ok if you don't get what you pay for, but I will be more careful with future purchase from GOG (if I even make any...).
For the people who actually tried to help and did not just troll: Thank you.
1. Seems you think your armchair knowledge of law in your own country is 100% accurate and applies to all countries.
Also who cares if it's the developers fault? The law does with regards to consumer protections if any are ever applicable when buying something, for one. And GOG still sells it because it IS Vista/XP compatible(for many people) & it obviously works for many people(even on Vista and for some even on Win7), and because they trust those that buy it to have common sense and think before buying something if it'll work for them or not.\
2. They are legitimate/trustworthy. You just didn't use common sense before buying.
3. Well how "gracious" of you...though I hope you DO check games out beforehand(not just here) before buying them at any rate. It'll help avoid any future headaches you might have, and those reading your unfounded rants might have if you post them.
