Hi, lately i kinda feel like im in the mood for some adventure games as my usual suspects dont seem to cut it, so im looking for some advice on good adventure games that really get u hooked pretty quickly.

Ive played Black Mirror ages ago and loved it especially coz of the dark setting, atmosphere and the somewhat occult background.

Any suggestions? Doesnt matter if they are available here on GoG.com or elsewhere but obviously right here would be a lot more convenient :)

Well if you're looking for an adventure game with a nice atmosphere, i recently played through Gabriel Knight and it was awesome.
It's a shame the sequel is in fmv, the first one feels superior in my opinion because it aged better...

You could also try games like Phantasmagoria, Are you afraid of the dark?, the 7th guest/the 11th hour...more horror-like but still pretty fun.

Some other suggestions for you, Syberia (not so much atmosphere but great visuals, puzzles and a good story), The Longest Journey, The Broken Sword series and of course the classic Monkey Island series. Good luck with the search and keep pointing and clicking Aveweto.
I have liked the following in the past-

The Last Express,

Broken Sword series,

Lost Horizon,

The Longest Journey games,

and Lost Chronicles of Zerzura.

I don't recommend Raven Legacy of a Master Thief at its current price; not worth it, imo.

e: oh, dark setting and/or occult background, try Deadly Premonition, Penumbra, or The Cat Lady

If You're looking for a game with similar traits, I can't recommend Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder enough. It's currently on sale at GamersGate (it's also on Desura and ShinyLoot).

Atmospheric, with a Lovecraftian vibe (but subtly done), optional/hidden locations, documents etc. add a bit of replayability. One of my personal favourites from the past several years.

If You want a third-person perspective game (apart from the already mentioned ones), I've got a freeware recommendation - Donna: Avenger of Blood.

Well written, enthralling, with a dark, recession-bitten Eastern European setting (and don't let the occasional nudity throw you off, it's not gratuitous). Some basic non-linearity, multiple solutions, two endings. I think, on and off, it took 10 years to create (mostly by one person), so it's probably one of the longest and most detailed AGS games out there.
Also one of my personal favourites from recent years.

Faenrir: Gabriel Knight ... It's a shame the 2 sequels are in fmv
Only the second part, The Beast Within, is FMV. Blood of The Damned is full 3D. Debatable which one aged better :P (Personally I love FMV)

Sanitarium (here at GOG) might also be a good fit - great psychological horror game.
did you played all the black mirrors?

still life 1 (the second one is very veeery bad)
alter ego
the cat lady and downfall( very mature content be aware!)
cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller
memoria and chains of satinav
Face Noir
gemini rue
gray matter
culpa Innata
memento mori
dark fall: lst souls

be aware that most of this games like (90%) of adventure games end in a cliffhanger and they dont have any sequel yet...

You could look at the humble weekly sale, maybe there is nice adventure for you.
Have you played Black Mirror 2 and 3?
It doesn't get much darker than Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
If you liked black mirror, I would suggest Gray Matter. I felt it had the same vibe.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers
Leisure Suit Larry 7

Bill Fisher's Last Half of Darkness games, particularly Tomb of Zojir or his last one, Society of the Serpent Moon.
The Longest Journey and Dreamfall
The Night of the Rabbit
The Chains of Satinav and Memoria
Realms of the Haunting (adventure-FPS hybrid)
