I’ve been a part of GoG for awhile and decided that I would be a more active member this year around. So how did I decide to achieve this? By making video reviews of course! This is my first attempt at creating a video review, so criticism is highly welcomed and encouraged.

About Me: My name is Cody Hanson, I live in California and I am currently a full time college student. I’ve always been interested in radio talk shows and video game reviews and because video games are half of my life, I decided to give back to the community that helped make these wonderful games.

What is Adventure Time?: Adventure Time! Is a popular TV show on Cartoon Network, however in this case, it’s my expose (a fancy way) of saying “This is an Adventure Game review!” Will I be subjugating myself with this genre? Probably not, but for now it’s a start, and if I get enough hits maybe I’ll expand. I will be posting new reviews every Monday and Thursday (or at least try to) so if you want to see another (or troll) you’ll have a schedule to look forward to.

Comments, suggestions, criticism IS WELCOMED! This is my first attempt at this, so every comment helps. Hope you enjoy!

Off-note: I know I’m mono-toned; I’m working on it I promise.
1. Adventure Time is an amazing show.

2. What stuck out the most to me is the background music that was playing through most of the video. I have no idea whether or not it's from the game, but I couldn't stand it.

3. Yeah, it's hard not to assume a monotone-like voice for this type of thing, but as you said you're working on it, so that's good. Just get enthusiastic, maybe talk a little faster if possible, but don't overdo that stuff either.

4. When videos are too small to fill up an aspect ratio, I'd definitely blow them up until a screen edge is hit. The different sizes of images/videos are really distracting, and I think you should upscale stuff for us.

5. Maybe a little too much summary - this is something I struggle with too, I run a little game review corner of my own. But you definitely told us what was good and what wasn't; make those things the ultimate focus of your discussion, don't worry about going really in-depth with a particular game event unless you give it a spin of your own, because we don't want to hear you just describe what happens in the game.

Nice work, and definitely great for a first go at a video review.

It is. That's the music that plays in St. George's Book Shop (the main character's home.)

Anyway. I liked this review... but some advice: you need to work on your tone of voice (you said you're working on that, which is good). Also, you really need to zoom in your webcam video so it fits the screen.

And you've hit a pet peeve of mine: Intro / outro bits that make no sense. What does that TV show have to do with your reviews? What does Rage Against The Machine have to do with Gabriel Knight? The end credits were also way too short (give it more than four seconds, dude!) and it wouldn't be a bad idea to say WHERE you can purchase the game! You mention GOG in the credits, but try to mention them when you're finishing up the review, and make sure you mention they're not the only place to get the game (there's collections, you know!)

One last thing - you're basically inviting Youtube's copyright trolls to take down your video for having copyrighted material from the TV show AND whoever owns that song (trust me, it's not pretty.) Make your own intro... better safe than sorry.

I didn't like the intro/outro either. Well, I liked the intro a little bit, but I agree they should both be refined to be a little more professional and not obnoxious.
Thank you for the feedback! As I said before it's my first time, so thank you. I'll work harder on the next review to try and not disappoint. :)
