Is your scart cable in the tv and sky box
Do you have a satelite dish <---- Yep people can be so dumb as to think you can get satelite tv without a dish
Do you have a sky account <------ Again yes people are dumb

reaver894: Im a bit late but I used to work at BSKYB about 5 years ago, our tech support was as follows:
Me: please switch the sky box of at the plug socket.
Customer: OK done.
Me: now we wait for 30 seconds.
Customer: ok.
Me & Customer: *difficult silence*
Me: ok please switch it back on.
Customer: Done
Me: and is it working?
Customer: no.
Me: OK thatll be £65 to send an engineer out to fix it.
Customer: FUCK YOU I WANT TO CANCEL.
That's what I like about DirecTV, they factor that into their pricing, they will charge, but if you've been with them for a couple years without needing help they'll waive the charge without you needing to ask them to do it. And when the technician came out the problem had gone away on its own so he double checked the rest of the set up and fixed a few things which should've been done properly the first time.

But OTOH I can understand why companies charge for that sort of thing, I think that BSKYB should have had a somewhat more comprehensive script because stupidity has no bounds. Just imagine working at a Dell support line and not knowing how many discs a customer was trying to load into the CDROM at once.
Well, the test turned out to be an interesting mix of questions:

Is Windows 7 a PC Operating System or a Server Operating System?

How would you restore Windows XP?

What is the difference between Outlook and Outlook Express?

Name some products in the Microsoft Office family.

A user phones you with trouble logging in. How would you troubleshoot this?

What is Active Directory?

What is a VLAN?

What are the advantages of VoIP?

And some others I can't remember.

Fingers crossed for you, nmillar!

Well, the morning ended an hour and a half ago, and I still haven't heard anything. This waiting is driving me crazy!

Play a game or go on the jobcentre plus website, that always kills a few hours for me.

Lol, trying to concentrate on doing my day job at the moment! Somehow, I don't think work will appreciate me playing games ...

Assume they're trying to decide just how to tell you to get stuffed. That way if you get the job, it can be a nice surprise but if you don't you can at least take comfort in being right

Yeah, I figured they'd probably phone the successful candidate first, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I haven't got the job.

Technically, I class myself as self employed, I do whatever needs doing from roofing to cash in hand at building sites, gardening decorating. Hell id probably sell my body if I though it was worth anything.

Oh and a self study student.

What I wouldnt give for a nice desk job with a regular income.
