This is the thread, in which you can post whatever you want, whatever is on your mind, whatever is bothering you or making you happy. You can talk to yourself, or chat if you want to, this is a thread just for you.

I'll start off:

And for a mobile game, damn, it's deliciously fun. I've always enjoyed the old Oregon Trail and the new one is not a let down in any way.

Good game - back when I did security I was heavily dependent on my mobile phone games.

Unfortunately, in NZ, we can only purchase what our provider sells so I had to scour sties like Mobile9 and trial each game to see if it would actually work on my phone.

That's quite unlucky.

I do have a choice to not get stuff from my provider, but it takes much more time and trouble. Though, my provider's taste sucks badly, so I don't really have a choice.

And dammit, one of my party members got bit by a snake... random events.
6 more days and I’m done with this job! I’m ready to move and stop working 12 hour days
I've managed to go through the Steam sale without buying one. Single. Game. That is wonderful. I have games I bought 3 years ago and haven't had the time to install or play them at all. There used to be a time when I would buy games I really wanted and couldn't wait to get on my machine. Now I buy games I'm lukewarm about and I buy them because they're cheap, but all that money of unplayed games add up and I'm still adding to the pile?

Why am I waiting for the Christmas sale on GOG and Steam? Why am I wondering what games they'll have and for how much when I already have games and not that much time to play them? Why do I keep buying?

It's kinda sad that when you're a student, you don't have money to play games but you have loads of time to play the few you own. Then when you're older and get a job, you have the money to buy all the games you want, but not the time to play them.

Maybe that's part of my problem. I'm overcompensating for all those years I couldn't buy games. It's like I'm saving for the future, when I'm old and have free time again, I'll have plenty of games to kill it with.

Here I am right now, with enough time to fire up any game in my collection... and I actually feel like browsing the web instead. :)

Forget the damn sales! Sales will always happen. We have New Year sale, Spring sale, Summer sale, Autumn sale, Halloween sale, and so on... (taking Steam as an example).

Don't waste your money buying stuff that you won't play. Take the year off from buying new games, and complete the games you have already bought. All well, you will have a lot less games in the backlog, and in the next sale during the following year, you will be able to buy the games that you wanted to buy during that previous year (and even cheaper!).

Which leads me to my own backlog... I think I am done with around 2/5 of the games I have. The only game I bought during this Steam sale is Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms, so that I would be able to complete Medieval 2 'properly'.

Currently slowly clearing out all Steamworks games I have, labeling them as 'finished' so that I won't take a look at them until I complete all games I have. Goal for the remaining time of 2011? To clear out 3/5 of the games I own.

Ultimately this is what led me to stop purchasing hard copy and getting rid of all my material goods until I was left only that which I need for now.

I'm still bad about purchasing digital software but it wasn't nearly as bad as my habit back in the day when I was spending $20 a piece for every game.

I'm also glad that I got a grip on myself before the new generation of consoles came out or else I would've breaking nuts in a Burger King struggling to afford every $80 game upon release.

That is exactly the one game that I almost bought, since I already own Medieval 2, but yup, haven't even played it yet. I figured i should play vanilla first, but hey! the expansion was $1.24! A measly, measly $1.24! And for how many hours of game time? It's very hard for a brain to say no to that.

Currently, i rarely spend more than $10 a game and when I do, it's a game of the year or a bundle (exceptions being Starcraft 2 (big fan) and Witcher 2 (wanted to help GOG)). Still, no matter how cheap the game is, if I don't get to play it or if I don't even end up liking it, it was wasted money.

Lucky for me, I've never been a console kinda guy. PC for life. That, and gamepads give me sore thumbs and blisters. It's also the reason why I only buy mostly from GOG and Steam (and the ocasional indie bundle). If I added GamersGate and Impulse to my providers, the pile would be much bigger and way too spread out.
It's almost friggin morning, I still can't get myself to feel sleepy.
Attention everyone:

Testicles.

That is all.
I kinda wish I had better sound equipment...and any clue about how to do sound engineering :P

Me neither. I tried and I almost fell asleep, but I heard some sounds and it's a no-no now. I think I'm gonna watch a movie.
WHERE IS MY DAMN PASSPORT!
You know, maybe starting with my own custom class in Morrowind wasn't such a hot idea O_o

I'm getting owned.
My favourite football team managed a super important win yesterday evening. The battle against relegation is looking somewhat brighter now. I wasn't there, though, it's so very cold at the moment and I'd rather experience winter by visiting Skyrim from the cosy, candle-lit warmth of my room.

However, shortly before Christmas there's a cup tie scheduled against our main rivals. I'll try to snatch a ticket for that game no matter how low temperatures might drop.
