Yeah, Greatest lists are never going to fit in entirely with our own opinion of what is best. I do find the inclusion of Angry Birds pretty odd, though I don't mind it that much — I dislike it myself, but you can't deny its mass appeal. Still, it strikes me as being almost like including Twilight on a "Greatest Movies" list.

After reading through it, it seems a bit more like making a list of the top 10 competitive sci-fi RTS games and then neglecting to even MENTION Starcraft. And instead focusing on Space Invaders and MOO3.

And exactly who out there thinks that all of the best games of all time are exclusively 90s PC RPGs made by Black Isle?

You're right. Angry Birds is not a bad "game", but it is repetitive and very casual game. It only got there because it's very popular nowadays and that's very sad. D:

I think the people that roam RPG forums like Jehovah's Witnesses screaming: "Hire Obsidian, your Writers suck!"

As far as the list, I think it's fair, they explain they're choices decently, since I'm used to top 100s having one half assed tiny paragraph to explain why. They didn't hit all the great games that I feel belong and I don't agree with all of their choices. I'm happy that they included Myth: The Fallen lords in the list, probably my favorite RTS game. I do think Fallout belongs there but I respect their choices.

Gaming Journalism, what's that?

Don't really care about any list that some internet magazine or reviewer makes because it all boils down to opinion really. Some biased and others more well rounded (or at least attempted to be really).

Casual gamers must make up a large proportion of gamers nowadays, and I personally don't believe that their gaming experience is invalid. So why shouldn't their games be on such a list? On a similar note, Solitaire is a really interesting choice--I have no doubt that more people have played and enjoyed Solitaire than have played and enjoyed Fallout, for example.

I was going to follow the link, and when I saw you mention no Planescape I realised the article was worthless and not worth my time.

Some people in this world were programmed to succeed in the eye of the masses with minimal effort - Just as long as we keep in mind who the true artists were, Planescape will never fall below Angry Birds in observance. ;)

As most of these lists it is a list of game that got the most public noteriety, not necessarily the actual best.

Public support isn't often times awared for effort or originality, instead it is granted to those who can afford to be seen by the majority whom normally don't look much further past the nose on their face.

Did Custer's Revenge make the cut?

Angry Birds? Desktop Tower Defense?
