Wishbone: No, not annoying, brilliant. One world, one price, one currency. Easy, fair, hassle-free.

Titanium: This reminds me of "Ein volk, ein reich, ein führer".

o.0

Pack your bags, family. The shit's about to hit the fan... again.
It's actually "Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer".

In German, we capitalize the nouns.

I'm sure there is a greasemonkey script (or one could be easily made) that converts to local currencies based on the current exchange rate. Can't look now, just having a break from fitting a roof window :P

Okay, it was just about the convenience of DD sites having the same price regardless of where the customer was from. It was not supposed to be an ominous reference to Nazi Germany.

I think he was being sarcastic for the sake of humor. ???

I know, it just sounded like he thought I did it on purpose, which is not the case.

I know. :)

hedwards: I wish the disclosure for that was better. It makes a difference to me depending upon which CC I use. One of mine has no fees for international transactions and the other tacks on something like 11 cents per game.
avatar
GameRager: 11cents?!? Sweet. I get charged 18 cents myself so to me that sounds even better. Of course we still have no reason to complain MUCH after seeing Lone3Wolf's charges....almost 2 pounds? Ouch.
I don't generally use that card because my other one doesn't charge any foreign transaction fees. But, the rate does vary depending upon how much I've spent, it tends to work out about 11 cents per 5.99 game, or there abouts.

it's not GOG's fault, but it would have been nice to have a heads up that it would be a foreign transaction.
How can it NOT be an international transaction?

You're American, paying a Polish company registered for trading purposes in Cyprus....

The most appropriate Grammar Nazi intervention to date!
Just investigated this some more and it looks like GOG specially created their site to be as inaccessible to accessibility software as possible. The prices are images..

http://www.gog.com/www/default/-img/_price.33.png

Seriously GOG... WTF? This is your code to display the price:
<span class="price_holder">
<span class="price_d"></span><span class="price_5"></span><span class="price_p"></span><span class="price_9"></span><span class="price_9"></span><span class="price_c"></span> </span>
This is the code that is required:
<span class="price_holder">$5.99</span>

Not on the gamecard. I'm currently trying to build a Greasemonkey script to show localised price.

That doesn't make it better.

This one doesn't work, but it might help.

Sure it does, not good, but better.
