So with the impending release of Madness Returns I can't see a better time to put the original Alice on GoG. Are there any plans for this, or any word of it happening?
So far, we don't know.

Alice's IP still belong to EA, and American Mcgee is under negotiation for a rerelease of Alice as his mod Lilith form his forum stated me.

Alice will probably be rereleased at the same time at Madness Returns due marketing reasons(see Mafia), I doubt it will happen before.

Also, Mcgee comfirmed to be a huge defender of DLC and DRM-policy, so he will be sceptical for rereleasing his game on GoG at least:

If you want to get a straight answer, go to his forum and PM Lilith60 for asking about Alice on GoG. Me and someone else already did it, so you maybe won't get an answer, but you if more people keep persisting her about that, she will be sooner or later give an official statement.
Thanks for the links, Tantrix.

I think the points that McGee raises in his post are fair and mainly concern new games that still need to recoup their development costs. From the tone of the post I don't think he would be particularly opposed to a DRM-free re-release of an old game that is already pirated.

I think the question is more whether it would fit in GOG's price classes of 9.99 and 5.99.
Aye, I never got a response when I asked but maybe I phrased it wrong. If as Tantrix says that enough people show an interest by pming them they may answer, there's also the facebook page that we could all start asking the question on too, though that may annoy the other users. ;)

Depressing, yet I know why he says those things. DRM is a stop-gap, it doesn't really stop piracy and is more like spitting in the wind, and developers know that. Eventually everything mainstream will be online and service-based and I will stop playing them. Oh well... we'll always have indies and the classics.

On topic: is Alice still extraordinarily expensive on ebay and such? I have my original big box copy and really like it, with the diary included and all. Still, most people don't care about that stuff and just want the game and if it's still $50 or so on ebay it makes sense no one is buying it.

It is only expensive on ebay because EA doesn't reprint Alice any longer thus becoming an expensive rarity as System Shock 2 8(
You forget that the standart price of Alice during 2000-2002 was around 10 bucks. So it fits into the GoG's payment basis.
PS.: I got Alice (Special edition) for 20 bucks on Australia and thankfully Aliasalpha did send me the packet. Still waiting for its arrival 8)

Hey, a thought crossed my mind:
If we get Mcgee on our board, not only could we get the chance to release EA titles here, but it would maybe open the door to get to ID!
All people have to do is PM http://www.americanmcgee.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=7 until we get an official statement.
