In case you haven't noticed yet, Valve has been going crazy with this whole Portal 2 ARG thing and putting extra content into a lot of indie gamesin their so-called "Potato Sack Bundle".

So far, the best of these I have seen is the additional storyline for Amnesia called Justine.
When you first launch Amnesia: The Dark Descent you get a settings splash screen. You will notice a new button in the lower right that says "Justine" and you get to play a new storyline in Amnesia that wasn't there before (and may disappear after all this Portal 2 stuff blows over).

In this story, you are a female protagonist instead of Daniel. As it begins, you are told that you only get one life and there is no way to save. This is true, which makes it all the more intense. I didn't survive my first play, so I'm here writing about it. There is now the voice of a woman taunting you throughout via phonograph recordings throughout the game. This makes her sort of like GLaDOS, but not robotic.

There are puzzles that can be solved by killing people. The game tells you it is a test of character, so maybe it's possible to solve puzzles without sacrificing others, but I've been killing them... I feel a bit guilty about that.

I got killed in a room full of potatoes. I think I caught the joke, stopped playing serious for a second, and got myself killed. Forced quit to desktop. I'll try again later.

If you've played it, let me know what you think. :)
So what happens if you bought directly from the developer instead of getting it on Steam? Am I exempt from getting it?

I don't know. I bought mine from the developer at pre-order, but that included a Steam Key, which I think they stopped doing later on. Check out the Frictional Games site and see if they say anything there.

Yep. Steam only.
One of the Frictional Games devs said this in their forums:

"Justine is only available through Steam for now. It will eventually be released so all players can enjoy it. "

No, on the developers website he confirms it is coming for everyone eventually. I think it was in the blog comments.

Well it's Steam for now so I was half-right.
