This isn't much like Syndicate or X-COM in terms of "ruining" a franchise. Those IPs were pretty much dead for a decade while BiA was still seeing regular releases. I think Gearbox is just going into a silly phase that started with Borderlands.

WBGhiro: Wasn't Brother in Arms one of those franchises that took itself very seriously? like getting every historic detail right?
yeah. remember a dev. commentary on hell's highway on how proud they were with making a shop look like a real shop in france during the war. he talked about silly stuff like clock and garlic (i think i might have imagine the part about the garlic :P )
BIA: Hell's Highway - A mature, gritty, sobering look at war and its consequences.

BIA: Furious 4 - aww, screw that... let's muder Nazis on toilets with a chainsaw

I always thought it was just supposed to be an "Inglorious Basterds" parody.

I'd imagine the BIA series will still be focused on realism, I just think this was done by the developers for fun.
Hard to murder something that is already dead. Ubisoft have no interest in funding a historical WW2 shooter, but a quickly made cash-in on Inglorious Basterds? Right up Ubisoft's street.

Please Ubisoft just fucking die.
Ugh what the hell?

Ubisoft is trying hard to make me HATE them.

As much as I'm looking forward to Ghost Recon online and Rainbow Six... This is schlock.
This is pretty bad. But still not Call of Juarez bad.

How can you know for sure? After all it was Gearbox who thought that DNF was good and ready for release. So who knows what they're thinking these days? They're clearly not the same company anymore.
I hope this game is the greatest thing since slides bread and we all play it and love it. Just because it be really funny to see us all (me included) with are foots in mouth.
Eh not worried. Having heard this game being just a relaxed side game for them, which after the somber and melancholy of the previous BIAs, I don't blame them.
Fuck you, Youtube age gate/login/worthless POS!
Actually, I already read an article on this about a month ago. This will, in no way, reflect on the BiA franchise itself, it was being done as a sort of side project for fun.

Gearbox knows this game is over the top and were developing it that way on purpose. So, considering all that, I'll give them a pass until I check the game itself out.

DNF was good and ready for release. The only way that it would have been better and more ready for release would have been if they had binned the entire game and started over from scratch.
i hope you realize that game is not Brothers in Arms 4. Gearbox have confirmed there will be another, proper BiA installment.
