Hello,
as far as I know, some japanese company is holding rights of Wizardry series, so my question is, have anyone from GOG ever tried to contact them about putting W8 on sale through GOG site?

Because it's totaly impossible to buy this game for last ~5 years (no I don't count used copies on amazon). I think it wouldn't hurt anyone, both sides would make money and am pretty sure many people are hungry for this game, so it looks like quite a good deal.

I think the issue is more who gets the money... BTW, if you want I can PM you a link where you can get it until it comes here to GOG.
Chances are very low. Wizardry franchise is owned by some japanese company that makes japanese only jRPG dungeon crawlers on DS (yeah, seriously).

That would be great. I have issues sending you PM, so am doing it this way. Somehow I always end in my Games collection when I click "PM"

Wizardry series died with W8, it's sad because when it came out, Sir-Tech been already working on W9. Japans can make game called Wizardry but it will never reach it's potential.

Log off, clear the history/cache/cookies from your browser, then log back in, that should solve it.

I have to agree with that after playing some of the "rebooted"(in the words of the new rights holder IPM, inc. http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2009/07/japan_to_see_wizardry_reboot_s.php) wizardry's. It's obvious that these guys have no clue what made Wizardry well Wizardry.

Also GOG when you get around to it fix the damn reply feature, it acts up if your post has too many "quotes" in it.

I guess the sad part is that many elements of Wizardry 6-8 would be appropriate for a stereotypically Japanese game. The plot from Wizardy 7 onwards is basically a westernized Phantasy Star. Also, fairy ninjas.

Well I know that one of the Japan only spin offs "Wizardry Gaiden IV: Throb of the demons heart" for the SNES which was done by ASCII who handled most of the console Wizardry ports and spin offs, had alot of stuff that would later appear in later Wizardy's such as the spells and races but from what I gather was hated by Japanese fans "because it ruined the Wizardry formula" which is weird since the game was a strict get to the end of the dungeon dungeon crawler like Wizardry 1-3 but was set in feudal japan style world and had races such as the lizard men and such as well as spells from Wizardry 6-8 but with the early wizardry system, so I guess that they(the new rights holders) figured based on reactions like that, that Wizardry fans in Japan wanted Wizardry's like 1-5 and not 6-8.

Of course not being from Japan and having not been exposed save from second hand accounts and such I can't say for sure but based on what I gathered that is more then likely the case but who knows.

After you report it to the support, obviously.

Which means you don't care enough to report it properly...
