I'm sick of waiting for PSN to come back up so I can download the Hulu Plus app and I've run through my PlayOn trial during the downtime, leaving me with very few options to get streaming media on my PS3. I find the whole concept of software subscriptions offensive and I absolutely refuse to pay the ridiculous "buy it outright" price they charge for PlayOn, so I'd like to find a functionally similar alternative. I have tried the open source PS3 Media Server and it works great for streaming my backed up DVD image files to the PS3, but it can't do streaming media from websites. Is there anything out there that is similar to PlayOn in its functionality, but without the ridiculous pricing scheme?
