isis12: Thanks for the link. The source for that info isn't sure himself about Securom being inert though ... Meh, I'd rather not take the chance I think.

Arkose: I have this game on Steam. It doesn't talk to a server and the SecuROM Removal Tool doesn't show anything having been added after playing (games with active protection will make entries the tool then detects).
Well, that does sound like it's really inert. I think I'll install the game on an old trash laptop first just to be sure but you certainly convinced me to take the time and try it out. Cheers!
