For some reason, my friends list comes up with an error saying steam isn't connected but actually, the client is connected.

Then I try to install Red Nation and I get an error saying Steam isn't connected but Steam is in online mode and is connected. I can browse the store, friends and feed within the client, anything within the client.

Then, I buy the Tomb Raider complete bundle but the games do not show up in my games list. But when I check the Store pages for each one, there is the green bar informing me I own this game, etc.

Something doesn't seem kosher here with Steam today. It was working just fine yesterday and zero has been changed on my system in any way.

Steam is bumming me out man.

I just had an issue with the Steam front page!

I was remembering that in the last Summer Sale I voted once for a game for sale, and when the page reloaded it showed that I voted for another game and not my selection... that time I thought that maybe I clicked wrong and too fast, so THIS TIME I picked carefully Red Alert 3, and you know what?, when the page reloaded to refresh itself shows that I voted for Civilization IV! (O_O)

Same issue here, I can't play torchlight 2, that's why I love gog. Bad steam, bad.

Well, I first saw this problem with the Mac client and not trusting the sorry Mac client, I booted XP in VM and tried Steam there, same problem. Now, I am in Windows 7 and notice the bottom of the client has a little message: No Connection.

On the other hand, here I am posting to you all. Hmm.

Ha ha! Hilarious. I have not heard this one before.

I haven't had any issues with it today but I did have some issues with it being slow a couple days ago. I'm guessing the sale is putting a strain on their servers (heck, I'm downloading three 10+ gig games as I type!)

oh good its not just me then. I can log in, browse all over steam store, but friends list not connecting and I can't download my games.

oh well, I've got plenty GOGs to distract me until Steam gets over its sulk. :)
