Since I bought this PSP last week, I've been looking at the games I can end up getting for it and D&D Tactics looks like it has potential. From the videos I've watched it sort of looks like a cross between the infinity engine D&D games and the xcom tactical combat sections, would that be a reasonable description?
Most of the complaints I've seen have been about graphics (which look okay to me, not brilliant but okay) and clunky controls but I've used a hell of a lot of computers & consoles in the last 30 years so my definition of clunky is a HELL of a lot different to most people's definition (after trying to run a windows like OS on the C64 controlled by a joystick, an extra button press or 2 in a console game isn't worth mentioning)
How is it story wise? Im not expecting Planescape Torment level storytelling but something interesting would be nice
Damn it sucks when games don't have demos!

The story is fairly standard D&D fare and the controls are a little clunky but I like it. It's got the depth of D&D but accessible (well, relatively of course).
Have you watched the Gametrailers review of it?

Go get Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP instead. At least that one is actually good.

Nah "Final Fantasy" & "Good" are mutually exclusive terms.
Shall have to have a watch of the GT review of D&DT, forgot they did reviews

Weirdly enough, it is indeed good. Just like how Crisis Core was good. (Yes, really.)
If they want to prove it they can release a demo. Too much ill will built up with the other series to make anything final fantasy a justifiable risk
Final Fantasy Tactics really isn't a final fantasy game beyond the graphics and arbitrary spell descriptions.
If it's anything like the PSX version it is good. (And I hated everything Final Fantasy after the SNES days)
