I'm living in Georgia for a year and using Liberty Bank. The card was rejected by GOG though, and Liberty's English phone service is closed until Monday. I'd like to get the 10% off Thief and Syndicate now that I have internet, so if anyone knows the trick for Liberty Bank please post.

You may have hit a country restriction. Many Visa card issuing banks have blacklists of countries they will not accept "card not present" merchant transactions from. GOG transactions post as from Cyprus, which is on many of these blacklists.

As suggested, I use Paypal via my Visa card. Haven't had a problem in 18 months.

I've also seen suggestions that the 'verified by Visa' procedure can mean that you have no comeback if there's a problem.

And as somebody who was there excactly a year ago let me tell you. Yes there are still plenty of landmines. Around the russian occupied areas and the russian border.

But if you survive the the black brewed booze and the georgian traffic pretty much nothing can kill you...

The local moonshine in insanely powerful. I took a gulp of it by accident and felt like I was dying from alcohol poisoning.
