I'm planning to upgrade to windows 8, so do the games here works on the new os?

I don't know about release Win8 but the RC worked just fine with the ones I tested on it.

Officially no, unofficially while I haven't tried any myself but from what I been seeing and hearing yeah for the most part you shouldn't have too much trouble with most titles, some that have known issues on Vista/7 like Interstate '76 may give you a hard time. I say that of course based on the fact that they already have issues on those OS's it would stand to reason that they may also give you a hard time on win 8.

Nothing works well on Windows 8, not even Windows 8 itself

Most games will run just fine on Windows 8. There will be a few that don't, of course, so you might want to check on a game's forum for details.

The only GOG releases I've personally had problems with on Windows 8 are Gothic 1/2 (which are easily fixed).
