I just get paid today and I want to buy a game from Steam. Mafia 2 was on my mind (I am waiting it for 7 years) before trying the ArmA 2 and it's expansion Arrowhead demo. I played their demos nearly 3 or 4 hours and still enjoying them. So here is the question If I buy Mafia 2 I will play it for 10 or 12 hours and won't play it again after the end. But If I buy ArmA 2 and expansion I can play it nearly 100 hours or so. It's editor also awesome I can create missions, change missions and download user made mission from Internet too. Also upcoming British expansion is looking good too. I know they are different games but... So I really can't decide. Maybe I will buy Mafia 2 and wait for ArmA 2 Bundle deal too. So what are your opinions?

Mafia 2 comes with mafia 1 which is a bonus. Also, whilst ARMA 2 seems better than ARMA 1, it does still seem to have a lot of bugs (though I've been only observing a friend playing rather than playing personally)
Obviously I can't really comment on Mafia 2 beyond the demo. But the demo struck me as feeling like "just another cover-based third-person shooter".
As for ArmA2: If you do grab it, DEFINITELY get the bundle (or at least Operation Arrowhead). OA's tutorials/bootcamp is MUCH more helpful than ArmA2's. I actually know how to snipe now :p
Plus, I think the graphical updates finally made night combat a LOT better. I find that I ran into much fewer cases of "god damn it. There is a single light in the distance, so I can't use NVGs because it will blind me, and I can't go without because HDR will keep me completely blind in the dark at all times".
But what really got me hot and bothered (and may have been in ArmA 2, I didn't play too much core-ArmA2 since my compy could barely run it :p) are the further improvements to night combat. Now, you can't just snipe with your goggles on. You need a special scope with nightvision. As a result, you can actually dismount the scope if needed and use what remains of the iron sights. VERY nice touch. And thermal imaging is fun too :p
Plus, what is not to love about shooting the Talib-err, the Insurgents when they bring stuff like Lee-Enfields to the fight. I have probably logged five or six hours just playing a simple quick mission. Me and two spec-ops with M14s defending against 24 Insurgents with Lee-Enfields. Sounds one-sided, until you realize that they are flanking you and really have the tactical advantage (high ground on one side, village full of cover on the other).
Whats wrong with Mafia 2?
I pre-ordered it son as i finished the demo its awesome!!

Like I said, it felt like "just another cover-based third person shooter". If I see it on sale, I'll grab it. But the DIgital Deluxe edition doesn't have anything that interests me (ooh, a car and new suit), and I already played Mafia 1
Both seem to be very good in their own ways. So it's a mater of preference really. Based on Mafia and the Mafia 2 demo, I'll probably get a lot more mileage out of Mafia 2, personally.
The ARMA 2 demo struck me as being needlessly complex at times. Personally I don't think I'd enjoy having to battle their lazy design decisions more than the enemy.
ArmA 2 bundle.
Infinite replayability if compared to Mafia 2: you get the SP campaign, the multiplayer, the editor, and one of the biggest modding communities in the world which means hundreds of quality mods/maps/etc.
The DLC isn't worth it, it's small stuff. Save the DLC money to buy Mafia 2 when it gets discounted, in the holidays or next year.

Agreed, depends of your taste for games.
IMO, the ArmA2 bundle gives you a giant bang for the buck.

I find these threads difficult to comment on because the obvious response is to get both. If you can only get one for now, well... they both have demos. Make that decision yourself based on the demos!
I thought Mafia 2 was amazing and I am sitting here dying because it is still 4 days away.
Neither. instead get a lot of Gogs :3

A-what?
Arma scares me.
Mafia 2 is a story based game with an authentic '40's and 50's atmosphere. The replay value would be free roam mode and any others. Mafia 1 takes place in the late 20's early 30's and it's hard. It does have a free roam mode and a mission mode. both will probably last you maybe 20 hours in campaign.
Arma 2 is a millitary simulation game that is tough to learn and has alot of replay value but can be rough on your system due to how much is going on. You have huge maps that can be handled in different ways, multiplayer, and a map maker.
Ether game is great and I would reccomend both games to you.

You got 20 hours out of Mafia 1's freeroam? Wow. I hated every second of it. Game was still amazing (fun campaign), but the free roam was just horrid.
I spent about a couple of hours in it but it does have potential to be fun if you like free roam type games. I wasn't into the free roam at the time i was playing it so I didn't play it much.
