One of my pet peeves is when sites don't provide any timezone information about offers. Depending upon the timezone it could still be available or not.

Understandable. That is why my "24 hour sales" are always 48-72 hours. Also, 24 hours is not usually long enough for an effective promotion anyway.

Pretty much, and for some projects even a month isn't long enough. It's easier to get away with 24 hour sales when you have a long mailing list of supporters. It's still a nice gesture, but it's probably not as effective as it could be.
