LOL, 1 part John Bonham, 1 part Pete Townshend (yeah I know he's a guitarist, but look at the windmill drum action) and 3 parts Animal from the Muppets :)

Ah yes, the Octopus Drummer. Release the Kraken! :D
Worlds Greatest Drummer
That guy's pretty funny, but personally I am more impressed by stuff like this...
YOU ARE ALL WAAAAAAAYYYYY OFF!
These other guys are good, don't get me wrong, but there is only one "greatest".

Come on guys.

Also, this seems as good a time as any to say RIP Alan Myers.

Funny enough, that guy lives in the small community where I grew up (and where my parents live).
As a Rush fan myself, I find it impossible to argue that point.

While looking around for some Carl Palmer links for an honorable mention I bumped into some Buddy Rich videos. Man, both those guys are (were, in Buddy's case) fantastic.
I want this man to have my children.
I donkt know what this post is abou but ima so fsking durnk. Drums are good.
Go play syndicate wars
Homer's five favorite drummers (not saying they're the best, because I don't think that statement can ever be made definitively when talking about musicians), but definitely had the most influence on my own playing:

1. Peart
2. Stewart Copeland
3. Billy Cobham
4. Simon Phillips
5. Marco Minneman
You know who was also a great drummer, may he rest in peace, John 'Stumpy' Pepys.

Man he was great. Quite tragic the way died, choking on vomit. Of course the thing of it was, it wasn't his vomit. In fact no one really knows who's vomit it was. I guess Scotland Yard doesn't test for vomit.

Well, you gotta cut the Yard some slack. You can't really dust for vomit.
Personally, I'd prefer to die through spontaneous combustion or in a bizarre gardening accident.

And on my Tombstone I'd like to have the words "Here lies Randalator... and why not?"...

Yes.

Seriously though, why no love for Bill Bruford in this thread?
