Nirth: Anyway, regarding rage quitting... I fcking love it. The relief that I don't have to bother with the frustation anymore beats any kind of satisfaction from winning it, in fact if I keep at it I'll feel like I wasted time because the challenge didn't entise me to have fun, it antagonized me to frustate myself through the experience.
That feeling sounds familiar, except in a bit different scenario. You try and try until you complete a disgustingly challenging part and when you finally beat it, you can shut down the game and feel an upgraded version of relief, because for all the frustration it caused you, not only you don't have to deal with it again - you also made it your bitch.

Hmm honestly? Never- I've gotten frustrated by games, but always managed somehow, and if they get too frustrating, I just look up the solution. Is that bad?
You need to define ragequitting is it;

- closeing the game out of frustration and coming back two/three days/weeks later to finish

- closeing & uninstalling and finding the best way to get rid so you never have to see it again
Years ago on Counter-Strike.
I'm not sure if this qualifies as it wasn't directly because of the game itself, but...

The Old Republic a few months ago. I bought some unlocks off the in game auction house, for in game money and not real money thankfully. I used those and they were supposed to apply to my full account. After taking a break I came back and started working on a low level char I never did much with before and found out the unlocks didn't work for him. Rather than try to deal with support again after seeing how useless they were before, I gave my monitor the finger and uninstalled the game.
I don't think you can call yourself a gamer without rage-quitting from time to time. I don't throw controllers or hit anything like i used to when i was a kid, but sometimes you just have to alt f4, hit the power button, or the old 3 finger salute to get that feeling of control back. So there!

I rage quit Call of Duty Black Ops 2 last time i played it.
Mario Tennis. I was playing it on the Virtual Console when I just finished all tournaments and unlocked Mirror Mode. The best cup in Mirror Mode requires double the amount of games per match. Fucking grueling endurance round...the only time I almost destroyed my Classic Controller XD
Trials HD and Trials Evolution... numerous times. Some of the later stages seem downright impossible to pass.

The new Tomb Raider.

Eventually I just got to the umpteenth time the game went into a Cutscene/QTE/Insultingly scripted sequence that I just had to say "screw this" and drop the whole thing. If the game doesn't want me to play it than neither do I.
Spider-Man: The Movie (2002). Well, sorta. I would have ragequitted if I did not resort to activating the cheat codes.

I was so close to ragequit playing Trine. Again, same reason: the non-existent save game system. I did finish the game, though, and thank goodness they listened to fans and at least put a simple save game system in Trine 2.

Darks Souls, but I eventually came back.
I don't get violent or anything like that, but when I rage quit I just say to the game "anda pal coño e' tu madre" which is something like go fuck yourself and then just quit the game.

Last time: last night was playing Infestation, a loot run in campos nothing serious, but then lag came and next thing I know I'm facing 20 zombies, no way out and only 10 bullets in my kruger 22 and hammer.

Came back today, did the same loot run and everything went just fine :)
Half a decade ago in this grindy MMO.

Couldn't take it any more when I was unable to beat this stupid boss. I ragequit with extreme prejudice.

HomerSimpson: I just re-read the above sentence and I feel like a boob. I'm a 45 year old man ragequitting a game....wtf?
+1 for that. :-)
Twice in the last year, both with GOG games :)

Divine Divinity -- loved the game but the last boss fight and actually getting to the boss through this maze of corridors was INFURIATING.

i finally rage quit and never have finished the game. If I want to now I'll have to restart it at the beginning as I lost all my saved games when my air conditioner sprung a leak and flooded my laptop last month.

The other one was Fahrenheit -- didn't last beyond an hour in that game as the controls are HORRENDOUS. Would never go back to it. Just no interest.

Licurg: Kingdom: The Far Reaches. I ragequit, uninstalled the game, and never looked back.
Whoops. That's THREE for me.:)

Kingdom: The Far Reaches, not only the biggest piece of CRAP on GOG but, I think the worst game I've ever attempted to play. No biggie, though, as it came in that pay-what-you-want bundle last year - I think I paid a buck 50 for 6 games.

That game though is the only one I wish I could delete permanently from my GOG library. No interest in having it there.
