RIP MCA :(
I was never a Beastie Boys fan, but this is still sad, especially considering they just got into the hall of fame. RIP.
So now he's truly intergalactic?

I believe that was the first song I heard of them, it isn't a great song, but it's quite nostalgic to me for some reason.

Oh, cancer, I was curious as to why he'd be dead so early. The Beastie Boys have been pretty straight edge for a long time now, I couldn't imagine that this would be an OD or the result of careless behavior.
Sad to hear it. He will be missed.
I even bought their album a few years back, so sad about this. Talk about some really interesting guys that did what they loved.

My eulogy: I'll still be enjoying your music for what time I have left. Thank you for the good times, bro, may your loved ones be at peace. And.... why yes, I will fight for my right to party:)
He was supposedly in remission, or very nearly there. Shit happens, I guess. Fair sailing, Cap'n Hornblower. Don't let the bitch take the boat.
This fucking sucks.
Dammit, this sucks! The Beastie Boys are the only rap group I have ever actually liked and respected. I really hoped MCA would be one of the lucky ones to beat cancer. Well, I'm off to put my entire Beastie Boys collection on shuffle and turn it up to 11. R.I.P Mr. Yauch, you shall be missed.

Apparently the remission thing was just a rumor, they said on their blog that it wasn't the case, but they remained hopeful that he would be soon if they continued treatments.

Sometimes cancer just surprises you, you might have some random complication that just kills you.
Damn

That's kinda what cancer is. It's basically a cellular 'mutant', with random circumstances causing that mutation (though many 'factors' have been determined to provide higher chances than others, yet some have been 'postered' more than the more statistically highest causes, according to political agendas; Tell everyone the truth that obesity causes more cases of cancer than smoking, that'll win the 'war on fat').
