grounddown77: This is in NO way a negative post. Just a suggestion before buying a game from GoG.com. I suggest looking at the game specific forums and see what topics have been posted there.Every game specific forum has at least 1, can't run said game on such pc post in it.
Read that forum post fully before buying. You may see that your PC will not run That game, OR you may find out that all you need to do to make it run is change some settings.

Navagon: It's often difficult to ascertain exactly what is causing the problem though. What works for some won't work for others, even those with much the same hardware. As spinefarm said, it's often a software issue.

So yes, do your research. But don't run a mile just because someone has a gripe.
