Hello

I was just wondering if Blizzard made games like Warcraft,Warcraft 2. Starcraft + Expansion and Diablo + Expansion will become available on gog soon?

also was wondering if ID Software`s Doom and Doom II will become available on gog?

Blizzard prefer complete control on the distribution. That aside, does their old game never get any discount off? I would only buy it if it get below 9.99, maybe at 50% off.
Nope, not likely. At least in the case of Blizzard, don't expect these games to appear here soon, if at all. No idea about ID Software, but I think if they'd been willing and able to re-release their games here, they'd have done so ages ago. I can't imagine GOG not trying to get the Doom games onboard.

I've never understood why iD didn't have their older games here. It just makes sense.

No one really knows cause most of it depends on the publishers willing to make a deal with gog to offer their games drm free. You can however search and vote for the games you like on the community wishlist, who knows if we get enough votes, gog might contact the publisher/developer...

But Blizzard pretty much likes to sell its items on bigger retailers or via their own website so I don't think those games will be released on gog very soon.

Zenimax hates anything that isn't Steam. That's the real answer.

Yes, but that happened in 2009, it surprises me that iD wouldn't have been here from the start.
The Blizzard games aren't even on Steam... forget it! They're not becoming available on gog any time soon!
Blizzard has an amazing back catalogue that really should be re-released, but I think Blizzard has the same problem that LucasArts had; they live in their own world where they didn't exist before 1998.
Their older classics are drm free, nowadays it's the online only bullshit they praise...

It IS possible but unlikely we see their classics on GoG, seems like they don't like to share profits or something. Dat dere monopoly.

Aren't Wolfenstein and Doom open-source free-to-play at this point?
i stopped being a blizzard fan at diablo 2. Haven't played anything of theirs since.

Maybe because id Sortware was sold in mid 2009 when GOG was still too young and small to pull off an agreement?

Historically, iD has been relatively progressive in that regards. Years ago, you could buy Quake 3 through Loki for Linux. I highly doubt that GOG in 2008 was really that much smaller than Loki in terms of potential sales.

Of course, I could be wrong, but we'll never know.

It wasn't until very late 2008 that the media even bothered reporting on GOG, and it took a while for the site to gain the acceptance it has today.

Besides, acquisitions of that scale are often a long time in the making. It's good and possible that ID agreed not to conclude any new distribution agreements without the consent of Zenimax while the purchase was being negotiated. When a company is acquired, you also acquire all the "legal baggage" that comes with it.
