BoF IV appears to only be available in Japan.

The PSP table doesn't have a field for Australia but BoF III is listed as being available for Europe so maybe.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_downloadable_PSP_games

The Media Go application can browse the PSN store for PSone classics and downloadable PSP games if you want to check availability on your pc.

Wiki is wrong again, it's on the US store.
Oh the necro.. Ah, well this or making a new topic.

I'm searching for Breath of Fire III on PSP, but it's not anymore on the US PSN. It is on the Europe (French) one though.. I Iiked the first, never knew the second, love the IV that I have as PsOne classic.. Now 10 euros for this 3rd I did play and like ten to 15 years ago, hmm.. I don't know why, I have an impulse to buy this for days.. >.<

I'm still hoping that the first one will eventually make an appearance on the Wii U eShop. I still have my PSP version of BoF3 and my PC version of BoF4.

Due to SoA's guidelines about ports on PSP, BoFIII has never been released in US PSN and likely never will. There's a PSN as well as a physical release here in Europe. I'm playing the UMD version right now, and it's quite good. It's sluggishly paced and full of filler like RPGs were at the time, but it's been so long from the PS1 era that it kinda feels fresh again. If you're in the mood for the slow-moving JRPGs, go for it!

Ohh I see.. Well I took the move and downloaded the pirated ISO for a quick demo test.. To stay in the legal range for 24 hours before I delete it off my computer.

And.. Damn, nostalgia was strong and blindling, binding me with this one.. As I played for a little hour I recalled the flaws, the pacing, the overkill of too numerous battles, the blocked camera view angle, empty and sometimes ugly 3D choice and overall visual design.. The good too with nice musics, multiple dragon combinations.. The storyline with former friends becoming enemies.. The infuriating mazes sometimes for the less patient..

Well, I decided to leave it alone at that price at least, 10 euros is asking quite much for such an old one. BoF IV is way, way better for Ryu and Nina with a lovely design, badass Fou-Lu, and I have it, so..

What turned me way off is the silly hair curl off the top of Ryu's head as a kid, too.. Ridiculous!

Lol.. Ah well, ISO deleted, decision made up, I'll wait for a PSN cut half on this one. Thanks for the information on the Us release.

Fair enough. I can very well see why someone wouldn't like it, you really have to be in the mood for this sort of thing. I think I wouldn't have liked it as much in the PS1 era, when the market was overcrowded with similar RPGs.
I would like to use this thread to shamelessly plug the Breath of Fire IV wishlist entry:

I have Breath of Fire III on my ps2. No need to buy a game digitally when I have a physical copy. :D

Hehe yeah.. Playstation back in the 95's, that's where and when I had it (as a pirated burned CD I admit, damn youth..) and liked it, as console RPG's were still rare in the market. I guess if there wasn't the IV I would have been all over it again, but it can't be, comparing the awful design of the 3rd to the lovely, cartoony while mature style of the IV, if only in term of characters appearance in game. and dungeons design. Just the map is better in the 3rd, actually.

+1 vote, though the PSN game plays great on my Vita. I didn't know about a Pc version for this one.

I actually own the PC version of Breath of Fire IV and even got it to run on Windows 7. But hearing from other people I might run into problems and crashes later in the game, so I would really like to have a GOG-approved version. :-D

Voted for it. Never got to play the fourth one, although I did play and enjoy the third back on the original Playstation.
