They profit off of the hard work of others without their permission and they have no shame about doing so. They can drop dead for all I'm concerned.
This applies equally to the UK government and TPB. =)

Having read Notch's tweet, it doesn't seem like he is saying "You can pirate other people's stuff. but not mine." Just that he is telling people how to avoid censorship while also asking people to not pirate Minecraft.
Slightly interesting that he added that though considering https://twitter.com/#!/notch/status/157261795139125248 makes it seem as though he doesn't mind piracy (at least by those who cannot afford).

More postal workers are killed every year by homemade booby-traps than by any other cause. True story.

I don't know if it is funny or sad that I really think that might be possible in the US...

Can't paint all piracy in black, though it's obviously not all white either. For an example of the good side of piracy: my Wii's drive recently died, and getting it fixed by Nintendo would cost 85$. I've been wanting to softmod my Wii for a while to run games out of a USB drive, but never got around to it. Now I've got a good reason to do it, only problem is I can't rip my games myself because my Wii can't read any discs anymore, and none of my DVD-Drives can read Wii discs.
Which leaves me with these choices:
1.Try to replace my Wii's drive myself, which I don't feel comfortable doing plus it would cost money and I'd have to find a replacement drive.
2.Get the drive fixed by Nintendo for 85$, which I don't want to do just to be able to rip my own games.
3. Get a DVD-Drive that can read Wii discs, which I can't find anywhere around here and again I feel like it's a waste of money.
4. "Pirate" the games I own legally, which is quick, easy, painless and doesn't cost me a thing. And while it's illegal, as long as I own the game I don't see any moral problems with it.
Haven't quite decided what I'll do yet though. I'd like to be able to rip my games myself, but I don't feel like spending money just for that on an old console at the end of its lifecycle. I'm edging towards torrents for now. I'm glad the option is there at least.

With that part I was just trying to say how I'm confused as to why he would add "Don't pirate Minecraft," after the torrentfreak article he links when he has, in the past, been perfectly okay with it.

I was kinda thinking that. If that's what he meant by it, then his humor is lost on me.
