Sweet! Going to meet Dave Gibbons in a few weeks as well, who made the extra artwork for this game. I already own Broken Sword several times but I'm very willing to buy it once again to help out Revolution. Anyone know of a place that sells it digitally?

No time to hurry for me. Someday it will come here, someday :-) And seeing the old Serious Sam here, maybe Gog will get also the original Broken Sword.

Part of me wonders if this will appear on GOG, Steam and GamersGate for $9.99 and $39.99 on Impulse*
* for those not in the US at least.
Joking aside, I'd love to get the first one again. I've already got 2 and 3 from here, but I have no real incentive to play them without being able to play 1 first.

Don't play 3.
You can safely play 2 without playing 1 first, the only thing you'll miss out on is introductions to characters. It's like BS2 was designed to be played on its own, because their allusions to the first game will either make you want to play it or replay it.
Essentially, if you play Broken Sword 2, you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of playing Broken Sword.

Why? A few dodgy controls aside, the game was great

It played bad, looked bad, written bad (which I'm sad to say since Steve Ince was heavily involved), ended bad.
Granted, it wasn't as canon destroying as Broken Sword 4, though. May copies of that game never see the light of day ever again.

I liked the third one. It had a silly ending, sure but well, I can say exactly the same thing about the finale of the second one. It wasn't anything superb, that's for sure but I still enjoyed it immensely and finished in two days. I've never managed to finish the fourth one, though. I ended at the Taj Mahal and, unfortunately, that was also the time when I switched to a new, 64-bit Windows which made the game unplayable :(.
Was it that bad, though? Plot-wise I mean. Up until the Turkey part the story was quite interesting. Well, I disliked the blondie but that's it.

The first was absolutely brilliant. The second felt cheaper and cut corners but was still a solid game except for some parts. The third was very much a "meh" experience but a decent enough game. The fourth felt so soulless and uninteresting I never completed it.

I always think of Broken Swords as Gabriel Knight for kids. Not that they are bad games; it's just that GK, while being largely the same thing, is so much more substantial and meaningful. For me, George and Nico will always be just weak clones of Gabriel and Grace.
In other words, I don't care about your BS director's cut, give me Gray Matter, ideally right now!

George, Nico, Gabriel, and Grace are all very different from one another. Broken Sword is more like Indiana Jones, while Gabriel Knight is more like a murder mystery/Van Helsing demon battle affair.

I think so too.
That said, I liked the third instalment of GK muuuuuch more than that of BS. Sad to say, it was partially my fault, because I got too hyped up about it, and felt betrayed. I promise I'll give it a chance, best sooner rather than later.
