Jesus Christ. Here I was, going into this thread thinking that I would discuss the move from the Old West to a modern west, and I read possibly one of the stupidest articles ever written. "We should watch what our children play and ban this game." What the fuck. Would you ban a movie about fighting drug cartels that was rated R? No, you fucking wouldn't. Portrays Mexico in a bad light? I'm Mexican, and you know what I see? Villains who just happen to be Mexican. Like there have been in the previous games. Can these people be any more idiotic?

But yeah, if this were a game based in the US, no one would talk about how poorly it portrays Americans. And I agree with you, if it were a movie, no would care then either. And above all else, as you said, the rating system is there for a reason, and this game is appropriately rated.

Bottom line: what's the big deal?

They didn't have any problem with GTA 4 which lets you run over pedestrians in a city that looks like a carbon copy of New York City, or with Call of Duty which lets you kill innocent people in an airport for no reason (it's not even integral to the storyline), but drug use? DRUGS ARE BAD SO WE SHALL BAN IT
