RafaelLopez: I know, Ultima Underworld is on GOG now, and seeing any Origins game on GOG gave me great hope (as well as made me gasp in surprise). Some games, however, apparently could be on GOG for years now and never came (I suppose if they could bring Fallout, they could bring Wasteland too for example, or the Larry games along with all other Sierra adventures). They chose to start the EA era with great picks like Dungeon Keeper and Wing Commander, but of all Ultima games, I was very sure they'd pick the regular series first (I think I remember Ultima IV given away for free years ago too -- not here on GOG of course).

So, do you think they picked Ultima Underworld first as a marketing strategy and should release other Ultimas later, or do you have reason to believe the other Ultima games are trapped in intellectual property limbo like System Shock?

edit: clarifications
Actually, for people who aren't already familiar with Ultima, I'd say Underworld is an excellent place to start. Older Ultimas are much more dated graphically and newer ones are awful games*. The only better candidate that comes to mind is Ultima 7.

But people weren't excited about Ultima when they heard EA announcement. Rather, System Shock was the game of lust. Unfortunately those two are still in rights hell and we won't be seeing those for a while. UU however, is the next best thing.

By releasing Ultima Underworld GOG kills two birds with one stone.

* Please don't hurt me. ;)

Hm, funny, while I like Ultima Underworld I feel it much more awkward in controls than, say, Ultima VII. They are all "dated", Im afraid...

Gibush: Same here, pretty much.

I was going to pay $40-50 for the Ultima Collection but now I think I'll wait, heh. Just in case GOG gets the games.
My situation is tough. The box is nowhere to be found here in Brazil. Ebay is the only possible option, if and when sellers agree to ship stuff all the way here (Amazon Marketplace wont send games to Brazil). On Ebay the complete box sells for at least 80 dollars (a rare deal) plus expensive shipping...

I guess it's dated, but I'm really enjoying Ultima Underworld. I'm actually surprised about how immersive it is. I love just journeying through, making my own maps... I literally have no idea what is where, or what could be coming out of the darkness, just outside my feeble torchlight. I've never played before... I'm definitely going to avoid spoilers so that I have as awesome of a game experience as I've been having already. There's so much mystery and coolness.
