gibbeynator: Really? Wow, you can usually count on New Zealand to be the bastion of sanity in the Australian games market.
Oz gets censored - Here in Zealand shops can't push the same games that Steam does because they are selling them for unfair prices.

So either Steam will mark the game up obnoxiously on us or just remove region access all together.

I think to actually give in and pay full price from a store in NZ selling video games would be a complete and utter sheepish fail demonstrating no dignity what-so-ever.

Especially when The Warehouse (our largest chain) leaves the serial keys lying around for others to run off with and play hard ball when you try and return it.

And, once again - this is just Castlevania yet again.

Tranquil.Suit: Apropos, in the past, how has GOG handled region exclusion policies of games?
GOG won't sell them. Same if publishers demand regional pricing. Only exception to that last one is Witcher 2 where they were legally given no choice.

This is also why there's only one Capcom game on GOG. And very few Japanese publisher owned games.

And naturally, Castlevania being from a Japanese publisher, it's not available in Japan either.

Tranquil.Suit: You know what console exclusive games motivate? Piracy of console games.

Although XBOX still hasn't been properly reverse engineered. Apparently, it's like a really hard thing to do. You'd need some real pros for that, the usual handful of basement dwelling, batshit crazy nerds just won't cut it for this task.

Fever_Discordia: Really? Like, original Xbox, not 360? That surprises me as at the time it was thought of as pretty much a consolised PC...
That's apparently one of the reasons why it's so hard to emulate.
Well that's a load of bullshit. Hopefully they come to their senses and fix it for you guys.

Iain: Recently been playing Symphony of the Night for PS1 which I bought off PSN a few weeks back, its the first time I have ever played a Castlevania game and I am hooked, decided I am going to buy a NES for my retro collection next so I can play the original titles

Snickersnack: If you're not attached to old console hardware, Konami released an emulation package for those on the PC about ten years ago. In the USA, there are still plenty of them floating around on the 2nd hand market.
