michaelleung: No, I mean not paying things as in they take open source stuff for granted, instead of buying Photoshop, they're more likely to just download GIMP, unlike Mac/Windows users.
Miaghstir: I did understand that, but I don't think they do take it for granted. They are willing to pay for software they want to use, it's just that that most of the software available to them IS open-source.
True, but Windows users have more or less the same open source software, yet we pay for Office, Photoshop, and all that.
I do think that it's because Linux doesn't have a lot of software commercially sold to them, other than the odd virtualization program (why bother if you have Wine?), games (!), and some other stuff. I haven't used Linux in years, to be honest. And back then, I used Red Hat Linux 9.
But we're going off on a tangent.
